Nutty, toasty flavours and a bit sweeter than many milds. Flavoursome brew with more complexity than your bog-standard milds. Leighton (22019) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2011
Cask at the Harp. Pours clear red with a slihght film head. Leafy, dry fruit aroma. Light sweet flavor, some fruits, bit of leafy bitters. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some dry toast to finish, bit of dried fruits, some faint earth and leaves. Nice. bobinlondon (1297) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 31, 2008

Cask at the Land of Liberty, Peace & Plenty, Heronsgate. Perfectly conditioned, bright ruby red with a tan head, a pleasure to look at on a sunny afternoon sitting in the garden of this wonderful pub. Rich malt aromas; fruity and rich in the mouth, with lots of roasted malt flavour; finish is dry and nutty. An excellent mild, proof that a good beer can be brewed at 3.7%. Cask at The Wenlock, october 07. Dark ruby/ brown color with a medium, almost yellow creamy head. Toasted malts, roasted peanuts aroma but restrained with some not nice sulphurous notes. Crystal malts flavor, mild and comforting. Light to medium palate, a little astringent finnish. Nice, drinkable mild. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2007
A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlockdownender (8774) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2007
Nice red brown with a good tan head. Decent dusty and malty aroma with slight chocolate and coffee. Sweet fruity flavour, light coffee and a hint of sourness that is more pronounced in the finish.
Cask-conditioned at the Nelson, Wheathampstead, Herts. A near black mild with reddish tones. Aroma of raisins, walnuts and roasted malt. Flavours of coffee and dates with a dry finish. Good. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAY 22, 2006
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Northampton BF. A very dark ruby coloured mild with a coffee coloured bubbly head. The aroma is malty with some milky coffee characteristics. The taste is dry and fruity with more coffee notes. Not bad.
