Bottle from the brewery. This are clearly not bottled conditioned which is a big disappointment because they taste so much better on cask. I will try to re-rate on cask soon. Chesnut brown, clear, white head. Very little on the nose. Taste is caramel, slight oxidisation (bottles are 3 months old), bit of damp cellar, some grain, little bit of black tea, little musty and fusty.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2017 Pours a hazy orange amber colour with a medium sized thick creamy off white head. Aroma is bready, vanilla and some caramel. Bready malt and dry twiggy taste, light spicy hop flavours in the finish.

Cask @ White House, Luton. Dark golden with a thin head. Not thin but lacks taste, with a very light malty graininess evident, and not very bitter at all. Easy enough supping in terms of its texture.

November 2016 - Cask, I think, (gravity dispense if so) at The Red Squirrel Emporium, High Wycombe, as Red Squirrel Mr Squirrel. Dark orange or brown, hazy, still with a big foamy dense creamy head, leaving thick lacing. Aroma is bready, light vanilla. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is bread and cereals, spicy white pepper finish. A decent bitter. (3.2)

Tap at Red Squirrel. It pours lightly hazy copper with a small off-white head. The aroma is earthy, toasty grain, cereal, toasted nuts, wood, farty, caramel and leather. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, wood, leather, eggy, spice, earth and toasted nut with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit farty. Meh.

Cask at the Antelope in Surbiton. Malty, hints of nuts, some vanilla and a little hop. Nice enough bitter.

Handpull cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Tawny brown, hazy, small film of white head. Forest floor, walnut, oak and red wine in the scent. It is pretty muted and not as exciting as Ive made it sound. Balanced taste but leaning toward the sweet side, with a strong nutty and caramel character. Finish in tannic bordering on acrid. Bodys somewhat lifeless. Its okay but there isnt a to it. Expected more than a twiggy brown from such an exciting brewery but Im sure itll appeal to some.

Aroma: bread and grain malts, nutty, light caramel. Appearance: clear amber, medium, frothy, beige head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: malts coming up again, bread, grain, light bitters continue, light floral hops, light caramel. Overall: OK Bitter, nothing too exciting though. Pint at Red Squirrel Beer Shop, Amersham.

Hazy amber color. Highly carbonated. Spicy, toast, and nutty aromas, , touch of yeast fruitiness, though has some unpleasant solventy esters and some oil-like smell. Dry beer with a controlled bitterness. Has a very unpleasant taste like chalk or dirt and some barely husk flavors. I didnt like this at all.

Cask conditioned at St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford. Red Amber with with off white head. This is quite a dryish, malty, nutty beer, some bitteress, some leafy, earthy hopped notes. Its fine.
