It seems Jamaican lager is much like the well marketed American brands: thin and bland, though not as thin as its American counterparts. Red Stripe is not that smooth either. Its not offensive, its just not something I choose to drink regularly.

Bottle at home. Clear golden with white head. Light sweet bubblegummy malts, grain, raw potato, vegetal bitter, buttery green bean boil water, earthy bitter notes. Moderate sweet and bitter, over medium body. Very malty and very soft. Malt is massiv. Too bad the taste is poor mon. Soft is da carbonation. Mweeeeep! Country tick Selassi-I.

330ml bottle from Dan Murphys Melbourne Pale straw with good head. Cereal aroma with malt note. Slight bitterness followed by a grainy palate and a sweet finish. As it says, easy drinking. Nothing complex here.

Kauge (1833) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 19, 2017
Bottle from a local shop. Aroma and flavour... exactly like the first time I was allowed to taste beer - I was 7 or 8 and it was a Lapin Kulta. Grains dominate, with herbal fakey hop character. Thin and overcarbonated. I guess Id be happy downing this bottle after bottle on a tropical beach. But right now its winter in the Northern hemisphere. Hence the score.
