Tap at Red Wing. Pours a clear dark brown, cannot see through it. Ring of head. Aroma is faint roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Taste is kind of bitter, malty, burned food. jackl (8556) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2016
Keg @ Red Wing. Slightly hazy deep brown pour with a small tan head. Nose is inviting toasted but and dark chocolate. Toasty grain, mellow coffee. Flavor is well rounded. Moderately Sweet with a dry bitter finish. Chewy chocolate fudge. Roasted espresso bitterness. Supple and smooth. This is legitimately well made. Nice! boto (2283) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - NOV 13, 2015
Draught @ Brwpub: this one pours an opaque, dark brown (almost black) color. There was a thin light brown head that didn’t linger long but did leave some lacing. It has a good nose. Coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate. The taste is very good. Chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee. Nicely balanced and smooth. I’d definitely have another! commonmac (1368) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 6, 2015
Tap at the brewery. More of a restaurant feel than anticipated but definitely a friendly vibe. Pint glass. Dark brown, nearly black with tan head. Aroma features coffee grounds and chocolate both of the mild variety. Mouthfeel is super smooth with a velvety chocolate milk consistency. Taste has definite coffee bitterness but it’s well balanced with a sweetness. Hazelnut and roasted malts. Really solid representation of the style. Good with Red Wing! deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 2, 2015

Majority of 5 oz. pour, on tap at the brewpub. Pours a medium to dark brown with a copper / amber hue and beige head. Smoky, umami aroma features scents of coffee, dark chocolate, and tobacco. Nice smell. Nice, light, roasted flavor features a pumpernickel bread element. Smoky and meaty taste with some cream. Well balanced porter. Quite tasty. Medium body. Lively, frothy, and oily in the palate. Quite enjoyable overall. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - APR 21, 2013
Tap at the brewpub. Dark pour with a off white head. Nice roasty nose with a touch of sweetness from the honey they add. This is terrific!
