5/20/11. 12oz bottle shared by Dustin. Very plain grainy aroma with a plasticy, sour flavor. Nasty.

thanks ms.crate...pours with low head, and low lacing...tastes like a coppery apa...pretty good, all things considered...steptoe....alittle strange in taste but could be worse!

PorterPounder (8231) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 31, 2006
Tallahassee, Fl. - Killearn Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Medium golden pour with an amber tint to it - initial white head fades quickly. Not much of an aroma, what’s there is industrial type watery aroma. Slightly metallic flavor with hints of pepper and ripened vegetables. Mouthfeel is slightly stinging. Advise drinking only under Dr’s orders. Curious that AB chose to put their name on this one but not the Wild Hop and Stone Mill.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a small khaki head. The aroma was light sweet caramel and fruity hops. The flavor was dry and bitter floral hops with a light body and a long bitter hop finish.

Thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with a foamy white head and a clear, light copper body. Aroma of some hops, ginger and light skunk. Taste is sweet and a bit hoppy. Fizzy mouthfeel and a bit dry

Appearance: Clear copper with a small white head that dissipates quickly, no lacing
Aroma: Yeast, bready and citrus
Taste: Sweet grassy, salty and slightly bitter
This is the second sorghum beer I’ve tried, this is the better of the two but not much. footbalmed

Ernest (7791) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 2, 2007
Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A-B clearly deserves props for this one out of all their pseudo-micro attempts, at the very least for being much more enjoyable than microbrewed sorghum beers like Lakefront New Grist and Bard’s Tale Dragon’s Gold (both of which are pretty much undrinkable). Surprisingly hoppy and balanced, and nothing particularly foul about it.

BlackHaddock (7586) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 27, 2015
Live rate on 27th May 2015, 12oz bottle into a plastic beaker, hotel room in Oceanside, California. I only bought the bottle because my son-in-law told me he and my daughter had walked over the bridge on the bottles front picture. Golden syrup coloured body, wispy head with more collar than covering. Not to sure wether this is terrible or just bad in taste and smell. Apple flavours and esters with a malty base in the brew. OK, might be fine for unhealthy people with allergies but it’s shit for me.

2.5
Strykzone (7586) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 21, 2007
Body is clear amber with a small white head that stays the same size throughout the glass. Aroma is malty. Mouth feel is grainy and unique. Flavor is bitter and very dry. It is a very different taste. The hops mixed with sorghum does some different things. One result is some complexity. Sometimes dark chocolate pops up, sometimes fruit. Complexity is really the only interesting thing about the beer as the flavor is not that good.

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 25, 2007
Bottled. Poured clear lighter orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up lemon, lighter fruits, and grapefruit along with a soft caramel base.. warmth brought out honeysuckle sweetness.. overall quite pleasant. The flavor took a turn for the worse.. a lightly acidic lemony bitterness prickled the tip of the tongue, and the middle was plagued with odd and unpleasant grainage (must’ve been the sorghum).. sticky vegetal notes and the honeysuckle again on the too-long finish.. a little pine bitterness showed occasionally, but didn’t provide much. Light-bodied on the palate and tacky.. higher carbonation.. didn’t flow well.
