Clear dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, strong coffee, dusty coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, coffee, strong coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

Pigs Ear. Clear dark brown beer, little tan head. Neutral palate with moderate carbonation. Dry. Rich coffee, espresso and slightly tangy. Trace of malt sweetness. Not much else to report. Unapologetically a coffee beer!
Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours rich brown with a frothy, tan cap. Huge, deep coffee aroma with light cocoa notes. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of coffee, moderate earthy bitterness, tobacco. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with dry cocoa, rich and bitter coffee. Solid coffee porter. Quite robust. JorgeLee (2193) - Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2012
Tap at Pig’s Ear 2012. Err coffee. And coffee. And more coffee. Black coffee, espresso, not milky coffee. And actually a bit of malty marmite on the nose after a good swirl. I quite like cold black coffee so enjoyed this, but it is maybe a bit one dimensional. jackl (8284) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Gravity @ Pigs Ear 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is very strong espresso bean, brash roasted malts and burnt wood. The taste is much the same. Pleny of rich, big roasted espresso, sweet toffee, mild chocolate. Pleasingly dry finish. Medium body, supple mouthfeel. Overall, pretty good stuff, especially if you like coffee!
