Bomber. Clear copper-brown with reddish tints. Small lasting ring of cream. Mild nose of brown sugar, oak, vanilla. Taste is brown sugar, orange, with some smoked oak and vanilla coming in quickly to balance. Long finish is vanilla, oak and light earthy smoke. Medium body is smoothly carbonated, sweetish, but drinkably dried by the oak and smoke. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 17, 2010
Caramel colored, no head. Smells like caramel at first, then some piney notes. Nice flavor - earthy, piney - I don’t know, is that mushroom? then some more honey and molasses. Sticky, messy finish. Sampled at 2010 pre-Brewer’s Jam tasting. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 16, 2010
Red-orange, beige cover. Aroma is sweet, cocoa, caramel. Taste is strong alcohol, caramel, cocoa and toast. dwyerpg (6188) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 6, 2010
Seet malt aroma. Nice dark brown color. The honey is a little at the start but the hops come on quickly and sustain through a very dry finish. Quite tasty. jtclockwork (16603) - , New Jersey, USA - OCT 2, 2010

Bottle: Pours a transparent deep copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet toasty caramel and toffee nose with some light fruity complexity and a doughy yeast. Starts with good fullness and chewy caramel sweetness with a decent hop bitterness and a touch of oak before a drier, bittersweet finish. Pretty true to style and fairly drinkable barleywine. kidmartinek (5000) - austin, Texas, USA - AUG 31, 2010
Cloudy brown ale with a lot of sediment, a red tint, and a 2 inch frothy off-white head. Strong malt nose with some english hops maybe. Rich, malty flavor and a strong hoppy bite. A little sweet mouthfeel. Strong malty aftertaste. Velvety smooth. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - AUG 31, 2010
Could there be anything else in this beer? Hmmm they forgot cocoa nibs, coconut, brett, some fruit, anything else?
Anyway, this beer is actually pretty good. Aroma is mildlyu complex with lots of dark fruit, light alcohol, toffee, earthy spice, hops. The taste also has dark fruit and toffee sweetness with a good amount of earthy woodiness. The hops come through well also. Well balanced, lots going on but it blends pretty nicely. Alcohol and bitter hops, burnt malt finish the beer. drowland (8766) - Georgia, USA - AUG 31, 2010
8/27/10. Bomber. Big thanks to Byron at Liquor Loft/Proof for sharing with the crew! Brown pour, mostly red when held to the light. Sweet roasty aroma with a hint of booze. Sweet bitter roasty flavor with a dose of astrigent bitterness. The finish is very burnt bitter. Eh.
