Bottle from Pacific Liquor: Color is a copper brass like color and had created a soft fluffy topping for a head which broke down instantly. Mild aroma of hops and bread like malts. The flavor is bitter with a decent serving of hops that leaves behind a salty and metallic finish. Sledutah (7978) - Utah, USA - JUN 15, 2012
22oz bottle from Bevmo. OK, I’m not happy with Bevmo, this may be the last beer I buy from there. Just opened this beer and it is oxidized. Looking closer at the bottle the bottling date is 6/26/10! Got a flight early tomorrow morning, so can’t take it back. I should have checked the bottle better when I bought it JoeTheYounger (1195) - Lake Arrowhead, California, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Appearance: Pours hazy amber with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Citrus and caramel
Taste: Caramel, cardboard with a sweet bitterness in the finish
Footbalmed and hope to rate it again (with a fresh bottle).
Golden piss yellow pour. Faint citrus hop aroma. A bit of bitterness and kinda a onr dimensional mess. Not bad, but hard to compete for the style GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - DEC 17, 2011

This wasn’t a bad beer in the normal sense of the word, but rather just a bad DIPA. The hops were burried under an avalanche of malts, but what hops squeaked out of the aroma was something close to citrusy/orange juice like hops. But the main focus in the aroma seemed to be on the sweet malts. Flavor was the same way. An overabundance of sweet syrupy malts with just a twinge of bitter orange-y hops in the flavor. Seemed also like a small barleywine. Not horrible, but not a good DIPA either.
pours amber with medium to low head
aromas of sweet fruits, fudge...
taste is bitter in the beginning going over to more sweetness to end quite abrupt which makes the end taste quite watery. some bitternes left in the mouth afterwards. distinct maltyness
a good beer that could use some more complexity

Sampled in a bomber. Glad they finally paid some respect to the big ballard, since they have been using the slogan on everything for years. These guys really crank the hops up. Fantastic stuff. pinkzambia (2111) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 29, 2011
22oz Bottle: Clear copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of apricot, orange zest, ginger and mild toasty hops. Strong bitter flavor with notes of musty flowers mixed with juniper berries and alcohol. Strong bitter finish that sticks around with a thin body. You can definitely feel the 8.6 ABV. Terminus (3740) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 21, 2011
bottle-dark orange almost mahogony hue with a small white soapy head. pine, earthy, metallic nose with some alcohol, resin, lite tropical and woody notes. very woody and piney flavors but nothing special. just seems to fall a bit flat-big resinous finish, but still, it seems to fall short. However, considering the brewer, this is pretty decent. with a few tweeks it could be really good. I think their hop choice is not very pleasing. palate is a bit thin for the style as well. the bittterness goes very long into the finish, but alcohol is very present consideing the abv here. keep working on it RH!~ marcus (10873) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUN 13, 2011
Bottle from Total Wine, Roseville. Pours orange gold with a thick creamy beige head and a citrus aroma. There is a nice toffee flavor with lots of citrusy hop bitterness, but not over the top. Well-balanced and tasty. CampesinoTino (800) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 22, 2011
Bomber. Light gold and orange colored in appearance with an inch of sudsy white head. The aroma is slightly dank and earthy hops, grapefruit and caramel malt. The flavor starts strong on the herbal hops and sour grapefruit along with a good dose of toasted malt and orange citrus. The body has standard IPA-level carbonation and finishes with more malt and caramel notes and a mild citrus aftertaste. It’s drinkable enough but not terribly memorable.
