Bottle. Really nice, very dark brown, almost black. Absolutely no head. Aroma was kind of weak. Whiffs of burnt grains and toast. Taste was somewhat better. Tasted of dark roast grains with very light hints of mocha. Weak upfront, roasted grains in the middle, light ashy bitterness in the finish. Bif (2306) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JAN 30, 2016
On tap. Served a deep brown color with nice thick head that faded slowly. Aroma of toasted malts and nuts. Taste of roasted malts and some nuttiness. Fair bitterness and a dry finish. Moderate body, a bit watery for a porter with a bit of grittiness. Not a bad English Porter, just a bit short on character. JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 17, 2015
On draft at the brewery. Dark brown pour, with a small light tan head. Roasty, malty, notes of chocolate, watery, and rather thin and boring. Drinkable, but not interesting. TaktikMTL (7921) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 7, 2014

"one of the more boring porters i’ve had, not that i’m surprised, given the brewer. it was worth a shot, though. nothing unpleasant, nothing impressive, just a boring beer."

Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color with a very small tan head on it. Nose is very roasty, almost to the point of seeming entirely like a chilled coffee. Taste is also quite roasty and slightly bitter, but has a really pleasant hint of chocolate coming through. Really enjoyable beer. Davhgbrew (948) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Draft wob CAP HILL. SLIGHTLY roasty, chocolate, malty molasses aroma. Texture is slightly creamy, pronounced bitterness. Flavor is roasted coffee and black malt, bitter and drying on the tongue in the finish l. Alcohol is not noticeable, body is full throughout. Overall very enjoyable Sessionable dark ale. czar (9322) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 6, 2013
