Tap @ brewery. Good looking pour with decent mocha head. Nice toasty aromas, dusty pine hops and burnt coffee highlight the aroma. Nice chewy roasted malty body with light caramel and vanilla touches. Fairly well constructed and a tasty brew overall, not outsanding for the style, but solid all around. Pours dark brown, thin head. Flavor is roasts and chocolate. Watery and thin mouthfeel. Not bad, but nothing to make it stand out. CaptBier (323) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - NOV 1, 2008
Black body with medium tan head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, some caramel, faint nutty. Taste is very roasty, solid coffee, with light chocolate. Light-medium body.

Dark dark brown nearly black with hints of ruby in the light. A thin light tan head that doesn’t last at all save a small ring at the edges. Roasty aroma, sort of thin, some chocolate. Body is light and taste is harsh bitter malt flavor then a slight hop finish. movezig (137) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Confused by the low rating. Some people might have drank this brew too cold perhaps? Let mine breath for a bit was pretty complex. Nice dark roast character but medium palate. Some smoke, good.

Traditional is the best way to describe this brew. In a way that’s good because you’re not disappointed, but there’s nothing overly exciting about it. It pours and smells exactly like what I would expect from a porter. The roasted malts and coffee-esque flavors are unsurprising also. The only deviation from the traditional norm is its lighter/watery body. Overall it’s pleasing regardless of its banality. It scores high points simply for being a porter (one of my preferred styles), but within the porter category itself it’s less than a heavyweight AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - SEP 21, 2008
Deep garnet with a fleeting tan head. Decent dark roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Mild flavors of blackened malts with smoked almonds. This was a great Porter way back in the day, but no more. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 19, 2008
Clear mahogany pour with ruby highlights and nonexistant head. Aroma is roasty and faint chocolate. Flavor is a bit vegetal, some cocoa, a bit nutty. Watery thin. Bitter chocolate finsih. Not all that impressive. nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 16, 2008
Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Flavor is of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. A little thin bodied for a porter, but good overall. scooterbub (1067) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - SEP 9, 2008
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a large tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. The finish is slightly bitter. Sort of watery and thin. Aroma is the same as the taste. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer, but it is kind of forgettable.
