Genny's rating

2.8
Genny (12) - Washington, USA - MAY 22, 2011
Had a pint at the Redhook Brewery. A standard porter in color and taste, dark brown and medium, but was disappointed especially in the head: very thin, weak khaki. All in all, I thought it fell somewhat short of what a good porter should be.

sebastokrator (116) - - MAY 11, 2017
Dark black with an off white head. Nose is roasted coffee, dark malt and a hint of dark chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee grounds. Lightly bodied, with light carbonation. This is an average porter. It doesn’t do anything unexpected.

3.4
vinivini (2236) - Gomel, BELARUS - MAY 7, 2017
Deep brown, moderate off- white head. Aroma: roasted malts, caramel, dry fruit, citrus hops. Similar taste. Quite dry. A bit watery. Pretty drinkable.

Cybercat (5741) - Georgia, USA - MAY 5, 2017
Pours dark chocolate brown with a decent buff head. Aroma features roast malt, molasses and subtle licorice tones. Flavor offers roast malt, smoky hops, and touches of molasses and licorice. Mouthfeel presents good body, sassy fizz, and a smoky roast malt and charred hops finish. Hooked on Porter!

teamsale (273) - Washington, USA - APR 22, 2017
Bottle pours black with a one finger brown head and light lacing. Aroma is of coffee and bread. Taste is mostly coffee, some light sour bitters, a touch on the grainy side, especially in the aftertaste. Bitterness is mild and the aftertaste is fairly pleasant. Decent.

2.3
YantarCoast (1340) - Moscow, RUSSIA - FEB 25, 2017
355ml bottle from Bliznetsy in Moscow. Pours dark brown with as small tan head. Aroma is mild roasted malt, bit of lactose, quite weak. Taste is malt, dark fruit, caramel. Very ordinary beer that tastes like it could have been made by any old brewery.

3.4
Rex_Remes (204) - Bonyhad, HUNGARY - FEB 24, 2017
(12oz bottle) AROMA: roasted notes, dark bread, coffee, APPEARANCE: rich dark, tan head TASTE: roasted corn/grain, dark chocolate, raisins, bran, PALATE: moderately rich, soft, creamy, some oiliness. OVERALL: a decent porter with classic coffee and chocolate and roastiness. Not too heavy, relaxing and warm.

Capa (3254) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - FEB 14, 2017
Very dark with a tan head. Some roasted notes, cocoa, some toasted malt, light earth. Medium body. Finish is bitter from the dark malt and dry. A very solid porter.

Left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. Other than that it was just okay tasting. I drank it too cold and that kills a lot of flavor. I do expect more from Redhook though. I’ve always liked their beers, however this one....not so much.

3.7
wlajwl (6747) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - OCT 2, 2016
Aroma is dark malts, mild chocolate and toast. The flavor is chocolate/dark chocolate, dark malts, mild dark fruit and a mix of acidity and slight tartness in the finish.

3.5
DwarfeD (3450) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2016
33cl bottle at home. Very dark brown with a medium soapy off-white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle bitter and sweet tones. Roasted malts, coffee, subtle smoke, some caramel and hops. Nice.
