Nice black color with a deep roasted coffee aroma. Hints of burnt chocolate on the palate. Absolutely delicious. k2 (146) - USA - JUL 11, 2002
Good dark brew. One of the best porters on the market. billb (245) - Acworth, Georgia, USA - JUN 2, 2000
For some reason I wasn’t expecting much from this beer, but it surprised me. One of Redhook’s better brews. THE BEER BARON (275) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 20, 2001
Very good. I love dark, chocolaty beers and this beer fits nice into those two areas. 6re99 (19) - Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA - FEB 22, 2006

In the world of porters this one is a bit odd. I need to try it again to get a better opinion. OD40oz (774) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - MAY 4, 2004
Great porter beer. The best Redhook beer in my opinion. This ranks up there with Boulevard Bully Porter for me. I would buy this again anyday. Very smooth. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JUN 10, 2014
Draught at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown color with a very small tan head on it. Nose is very roasty, almost to the point of seeming entirely like a chilled coffee. Taste is also quite roasty and slightly bitter, but has a really pleasant hint of chocolate coming through. Really enjoyable beer. ravidesai (978) - Bombay, INDIA - AUG 23, 2001
A nice dark porter.
aroma of roasted malts.
very smooth but better cask-conditioned or on a nitro tap than bottled.

Nice porter with some authority & good tatse. Slightly bitter aftertase that went away quickly.
