COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Redhook Blonde combines the best attributes of a flavorful golden ale with the refreshing qualities of a lager. The ale is brewed with three different malts and two hop varietals. Lightly roasted barley and a touch of wheat, combined with an ample portion of hops, creates a truly crowd pleasing beer . Redhook Blonde pairs well with medium flavored foods such as fish, nachos or salad. Available year round.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2004 Bottle pours a translucent yellow with a fine bubbly frothy white head. I am somewhat amazed at the amount of head and lacing of this brew. Slight hints of sweetened straw and grains. Mouthfeel has a bit of malty chewiness, somewhat wheat like. The hops are very subtle. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Great for a summer day.

Braudog (6763) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2003
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2007 Dark yellow with standing off-white head, exceptionally still. Hop-malt nose of note. OK frothy, very sweet hop-cereal flavor with mellow finish. Bit thin, but viscuous.

ClarkVV (6757) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 2, 2005
2005 bottle. Light yellow body, mostly clear, maybe a chill haze, maybe not. Small white head, some retention. Aroma of grass, hay, wheat and a touch of grains. Flavor is a tad bitter, crisp on the finish and has a mellow hint of vanilla and honey, with some metaliic earthy/toasty grains. I make it sound more flavorful than it is, however, as it is mostly a dry, watery concoction of wheat, grassy hops and light almonds.

Redhook sure does suck.

Overall Impression: Had this one a bunch of times, usually out of a Redhook sampler pack, it’s an alright example of the Blonde style. Flavors are fairly muted, thin, and light, if that’s your cup-of-tea, you’ll probably enjoy this one more then I do.

Pailhead (6541) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JAN 12, 2005
Bottle: Sweet with light honey and Euro-lager aromas. Pours a lightly hazy yellowish-orange with a small white head with little staying power. Not much up front with very light sour and very light hop finish. Bland and boring.

mansquito (6514) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUL 27, 2008
Quickly dissipating white head. Golden color. Bready aroma. Bland slightly malty and bready taste. Modicum of hops in there.

Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 29, 2009
Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of toasted malt, some fruity hints. Tastes of sweet malt wth some fruity hints. An easy drinking lawnmower beer.

Barely gold in colour with a completely white head. Smells like water also. Tastes like metal with a hint of a hop flavour. No malt detected and barely a taste at all. Not a good beer.

2.6
riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 19, 2007
Golden and bubbly. Mildly sweet malty aroma. Flavor is a little bready, biscuity, and lightly fruity in the finish.

2.4
JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - FEB 23, 2004
Deep golden color with a fluffy white head. Aromas of pale grain, both floral and somewhat citric hops and light creamed corn (DMS). Off sweet malt flavors, not earthy, not grainy, just plain off. Dry and uneventful finish.
