12oz bottle-pours a white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is bready-slightly sweet light malt/grain, herbal. Taste is bready-slightly sweet light malt/grain, secondary light/medium fruit, twang/herbal hops bite, some yeast.

Bottle… Lightly hazed golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Malty aromas of toffee and caramel with some earthy and medicinal notes as well. Malty, caramel and toffee flavor. Hopped just enough to prevent the sweetness from becoming overbearing. Medium to full-bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and middle-of-the-road carbonation. Caramelized, sweet finish. It’s a malt bomb! Reminiscent of a Märzen or Maibock, but both of those are lagers and one of them is an autumn (not spring) seasonal.

daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 4, 2010
Coppe color. White head. Watery malt and hop aroma. Water malt and hop flavor. This isn’t really very good at all.

DocLock (10702) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 2, 2009
Draft at Craft. Hazy dark straw/copper pour with nose of caramel malt, mild hops, fruit. Tastes of bready caramel malt, not terribly complex, with some fruity and mild hops, but not much palate heft. Meh.

cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Bottle @ home. Pours a clear, burnt orange appearance with a cream colored head. Toasty, bready, caramel malty, earthy hoppy aroma. Creamy, somewhat floral, mostly earthy hoppy, moderately bitter, grassy, caramel malty flavor. Not bad.

BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - MAY 30, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2013 Bottle. Clear orange-amber pour with a small white head. Nose is caramel malt and a bit of hop. Palate is a bit thin. Taste is malt-forward with the saaz hops making a showing.

alexsdad06 (10431) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 17, 2017
Bottle from old backlog notes. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a basic malt profile, caramel, doughy bread, light fruit, herbal, thin and watery.

marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 3, 2011
Bottle from Total Wine. Pours cloudy amber with a decent off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a bitter caramel malt flavor that is a bit syrupy and a dry finish.

GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 16, 2012
355mL. Pours clear amber. Medium off white soapy head. Soapy retention. Nose is sweet cherry and spices. Dog food comes through. Taste is soapy and very bland, tangy, lemon heavy, detergent. Palate is chemical heavy. Worse than the pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
