I happened to like this one. Very fine carbonation, which makes this spring ale a highly drinkable, crisp beer. Actually my new favorite of the Redhook Brewery. A little sweet, like nectar, and overall very light and refreshing.

Very mediocre effort, thin taste, not much to it, but bitter aftertaste. Killian’s red, possibly worse.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2007 Aroma is somewhat hoppy and hints of fruit. Twelve ounce bottle pours clear - slightly redder than an apple juice; head is off-white, medium height and relatively coarse and quickly disperses. Body is light - more so than I expected and easily overpowered by food. The hops, sugar, citrus, honey, spices are all subdued but well balanced. Goes down watery and smooth with a slightly oily after-mouthfeel and a faint fruity aftertaste.

Bottle - Pours yellowish copper. I can’t pick up much on the nose, maybe a little malty. Nice very smooth summer time beer. As much citrus as an APA but without the hops. Finish clean with a little carbonation.

Nice amber ale...a little more hop than others I’ve tried. Medium frothy head smells more like a mild american pale ale. Clean, crisp aftertaste...not a bad brew at all.

Bottle. Pours orange with a nice white creamy head. Aroma is faint but a bit of citrus. It is fairly light on the palate. Taste is light, citrusy, and a bit hoppy. An ok slightly pleasant spring beer.

I actually think the Copper Hook has a great smell. But there’s no head, the color is not quite as golden as I would like to see out of an amber ale, and the taste is okay on immediate impact, but the taste itself is extremely lacking.

12 oz. crisp taste, initially slightly fruity hops with not much to speak of in the finish. nothing too special but ok overall

There is a stark contrast difference between the initial flavour and the aftertaste of this fairly hoppy beer. Like the WinterHook, I’m not partial to it’s flavour, but it is similar to the Pyramid SnowCap in that there are a lot of hard to place off-flavors roaming around in the glass, almost as if you’re not sure what is about to assault your tastebuds next. Definately a tasting experience, and I will try it again!

poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. 1/2" off white head, slightly cloudy deep yellow. I didn’t see a copper color tone anywhere. Funny everybody says there are no hops but it is the only thing besides alcohol to smell. Nice feel in the mouth. Fast dissipating mild hop flavor with a finish that is like licking a aluminum spoon that was dipped in weak sugar water. The flavor is forgotten quickly. Drinkable I guess if tasting like beer is your metering unit. 5.8%apv could sneak up on you.
