Poured a mid-orangey-amber with a one-finger creamy frothy head that diminished slowly to a cap that laced OK. Carbonation high, average and with medium sized bubbles. Aroma of caramel, malt and hints of sweet citrus/orange. Taste of caramel malt, quite sweet with low bitterness. Light body. Smooth and soft with a short sweet finish.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine & More, Louisville; bottle dated Jul 07 16. Aroma: Pleasant lemon peel and botanical hop aroma with a lightly toasted malt presence. Appearance: Transparent, light copper color with a stream of bubbles holding up a foamy bone head that settles into a sticky, patchy skin. Flavor: Moderate toast and caramel malt initially with more of a spicy, lightly fruity hop presence towards the finish, which is mildly bitter and semi-dry. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: This is not going to fool anyone familiar with the likes of Fullers ESB. Still, its interesting enough to serve as a fall cookout/hangout beer in a pinch.

Poured from a bottle, short-lived head and little lacing, but very effervescent and an attractive semi-opaque amber color. It may be an extra-special bitter, but its not extra-bitter...almost a sweet aroma, tart taste with some pine.

Bottle at the Silver City hotel earlier today... Polished light Amber.. Dry toast and balanced caramel... Grassy hops mesh well with a dry finish.

Slightly cloudy reddish golden pour with small, beige foam. Malty nose with caramel, vanilla, and some fruity hops. The hops are more prominent in the taste and their bitterness compliments the active fizz. Medium body and sweet finish.

So disappointed... Used to be malty and balanced and so tasty... Now it is thin and weak and just not very good. A beer that I grew up with but clearly when Bud got involved everything changed.
