UPDATED: MAY 11, 2008 Not a very flavorful IPA, but perhaps it would serve well for those wishing to get into the style for the first time. Certainly a drinkable session beer. RERATE: I really enjoy this beer. It is not as flavorful or complex as say Dogfish Head, Smuttynose, or Stone, but it is every bit as well-made. A very clean and smooth beer. Very enjoyable. Definitely a starter beer for the high quality IPA category.

From tap at tasting : Pours a cloudy light yellow. Big huge foamy and rocky white head. Slight hoppy aroma and taste, not very much though. Not a good ipa at all.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2007 Tap in Solvang, CA. Golden with smallish head. Sweet flowery and a bit skunky hoppy nose. Flavor has hops, but not overly bitter. Some sweetness. Pretty easy considering its 6.5 %.

Rating number 1400. Bottled 082807. Sweet fruity nose - rush of grapefruit and other citrus, mild pine with somewhat exotic lychee-ish notes. Neon-orange body color, really quite strange, with a soapy beige head. Taste is sharp and bitter, fruity with a bit of bread coming through in the aftertaste, but the effect is most tropical on the whole. Hops are decent but not complex, taste is robust, body is a bit thin but definitely not watery. Ill have to agree, much bolder than expected, and good as far as daily session+s go, but in the end, doesnt really reach far past average.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2007 The aroma is herbal and slightly skunky. Nice smooth flavor, but nothing too exciting. Its not super-hoppy; I wouldnt really call this an IPA.

after a few other decent beers i tried this one on draft at the Yard House. Didnt have much on the nose and didnt really impress me as an IPA. no lingering hop flavor and subtle skunky maltiness followed that up. Though on the plus side it smelled slightly floral and a bit of citrus too. Maybe im just upset cause I always expect beers to be more agressive.

This was a dark golden color with a small head. A faint aroma of lemons and grapefruit. The flavor is not really bitter at all and contains some more lemons and grapefruit. Overall there is nothing wrong with this beer but its very dull for an IPA
