on tap inside the beacon hill pub in seattle. sort of a heavier newcastle ale, but without the sweet caramel notes. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - FEB 22, 2010
Bottle thanks to angrypirate06. The look is clear, brown in color, and has a light brown head. The taste is caramel, fruits, and malts. the smell is caramel, malts, and a little fruity. cantchangeit (39) - Oregon, USA - FEB 21, 2010
Bottle: Looks like a cola with a white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is surprisingly similar to a dr pepper or pepsi yet the flavors are not too sweet or anything like that. A smooth drinking beer with a woody finish. savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - FEB 19, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours clear medium brown with a smallish beige head. Malty, caramel aroma with some biscuit. Malty flavor with light sweetness, also some light hop bitterness. Medium to light body with average carbonation and a bit of sweetness in the after taste. Overall fairly drinkable and good but a bit boring. djd07 (15544) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 17, 2010
Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small frothy beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a sweet fruit malt with caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a rich malt with caramel and fruit. Very easy to drink, a very god brown ale from Redhook.

12oz bottle from BevMo. Pours a clear copper brown with a frothy beige head that left some nice lacing. Nose is nutty with some faint hops and roasted malts. Flavor was much of the same. Drinkable and somewhat enjoyable, a good session brown. TLNash886 (228) - Idaho, USA - FEB 15, 2010
12 oz bottle pours murky brown with no retaining head. Aroma of roasted hazelnuts, nutmeg, cinnamon. Very similar taste: spiced hazelnut coffee creamer. That pretty much sums it up. The taste profile fits and it is indeed creamy; a bit thin. Light to medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a low to medium level of carbonation. Gains palate points back for the great mouthfeel. Highly drinkable. poisoneddwarf (2646) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - FEB 13, 2010
12 oz bottle into giant dimpled mug. Faint tart aroma. Caramel and nutty smells come out as the beer warms. Pours brown with little head, decent lacework. Definitely nutty flavor (I’m reminded of hazelnut coffee creamer). Medium carbonation, medium body. I love nut brown ales. This one is pretty average. Definitely not bad, though. Aroma – Sweet malt aroma with some hops coming through.
Appearance – Dark amber in color, Clear with a light head.
Flavor – Malt and hops balance this was brewed for the masses very little excitement from this brew.
Palate – Dry finish with a nice Mouthfeel.
Overall – Nice everyday easy drinking spring beer. I wish it had more flavor and even some nuttiness.
light brown pour - large white foamy head - hints of brown sugar, yeast in the aroma - flavors of brown sugar, citrus - a light initial bitterness leads to a slightly sour aftertaste with a light hint of malt - somewhat thin palate
