Of the four beers in the variety 12 pack I like this one the best. Pours brown with a ruby tinge, slight khaki head gone quickly. Aroma is roasted grain, bread, caramel malt, and toast. Flavor tends toward the sweet side, with a decent amount of bitterness to back it up. Has a lingering bitterness to the aftertaste, quite subtle. Overall, pretty refreshing and decent but nothing special. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - AUG 29, 2014

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a light brown color with a small cream colored head. The head fades quite fast to leave a persistent film on the top of the brew and very little lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a roasted malt and caramel smells. Mixed with these aromas are some nutty smells as well as a toffee aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready and roasted malt flavor with some caramel sweetness. . As the flavor advances some toffee and nut flavors then hit the tongue mixed with a light fruit taste of apple. In a not so smooth transition the sweeter flavors start to fade more toward the end as a light bitterness of a citrus and earthy nature come to the tongue. In the end a lightly bittered and semi-sweet roasted flavor are left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather average. A little more body and a little less carbonation would have likely suited the brew better, giving the roasted malt, caramel and nut flavor mix a more decant and suiting feel.
Overall – Well it’s not offensive and it is OK, but its lack of smooth transitions and its rather weak mouthfeel would likely prevent me from recommending this one to others. Just OK. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 15, 2016

sixer picked up at azwine. bottle dec72009 consumed 2/20/10.
the aroma doesn’t give me much.... it is mostly caramel malt with chocolate, a a little smoke and some toasted nuts tossed in.
the flavor has the same characteristics with maple walnut creme candies, biscuits and a dry hoppy finish which actually tingles the tongue. .
it is easy drinking (and without much thought) with a medium body and high spritzy carbonation. 5/3/6/3/13/3.0 DocLock (10683) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2011
