Brown color, with a persistent creamy layer. Very light aroma. Ordinary flavor, a bit nutty.
Darkish brown pour. Taste is roasted malt and muted nuts. Definitely, missing that something extra, but very drinkable. Rated 3/16/03 bhensonb (15609) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 24, 2012
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light cola color with a slight beige head. Aroma of a little roast malt with some arguable nuttiness. Med body. Flavor is that brown ale sort of roast malt with some mildly greasy nut and enough bitter for there to be some hop. Finishes towards dry with light bitter. Light brown ale with a light moka head. Light caramel in aroma. Watery sweet malt juice with no hops. Light and boring. Bottle. CNY Brewfest Feb. 5 2005. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 1, 2003
Small beige head atop a ruby body. Aroma is fairly sweet, and malty -- nutty and slightly roasty. Taste is nutty and moderately sweet, hint of roastiness toward the back of the throat. Also some floral hops. Medium bodied, with less-than-usual carbonation. Not a bad beer, but my description seems like it should make me like it more than I do. Pours a deep mahagoney with a small light brown head. Brown sugar and maple malt aromas with a hop nose. Initially hoppy and then a caramel and citrus malt finish. Medium and refreshing palate, very drinkable. bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - APR 13, 2006
(Bottle Arena’s Deli & Beach Bar, Rehoboth Beach, DE) Pours a clear nut brown body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of sweet malt and smoked sausage. slowrunner77 (12581) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
"Fairly typical brown ale, which is to say, pleasant enough but nothing special. I guess that’s all i could have hoped for. I’ve only had a couple standouts from RH. Anywho, light roast and caramel, with a hint of nut and chocolate in the nose and aroma. A tad too carbonated.
