Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality. Red Hook Pilsner pairs nicely with barbecued chicken, bratwurst, spicy food, fresh fish, and green salad. 355mL thanks to a friend of biggirlpanties. Pours a clear golden with a Suddy white head. Quick retention. Nose is canned pineapple, sugar cube. Taste is bland, cardboardy, tangy, papery. Powdery. Metallic. Eh.

Bottle. Golden beer with a cream colored head. Grass and light mineral aroma with light malt. Malt and biscuit flavor with grass, light mineral, and light spice. Medium bodied (some creaminess). Mineral, grass, and malt lingers with light spice.

Pale straw colour with a tight white head. The aroma is fairly clean and slightly crackery with a touch of soft zesty hoppiness. Clean and fresh although it could always be hoppier. A little bit of light straw malt flavour. Simple if decent.

tap at brewpub. clear bright yellow with a small white cap, little retention. clean but bland and lightly sweet malt base, bit of herbs and citrus. moderate carbonation, light body - never watery, fairly malted in fact, short but present spicy-herbal finish. sort of blah overall.

11/8/11. 12oz bottle. Super clear somewhat dark golden pour with a small, fluffy off-white head that cuts fast and barely laces. Very plain, light aroma, with barely anything... perhaps a touch of apples and dusty graininess. Sweet, malty entry at first but it fades to slightly tart and fruity followed by bitter graininess that reminds me slightly of cracker and popcorn. Meh.

Very cool shaped 12oz bottle poured clear deep gold with copper hues and white head. The aroma is sweet malts, spicy hops, some mild malt graininess and floral hops. The taste is similar with pretty bold spicy hops ringed by thin layers of floral hops, grainy malts and sweet maltiness off in the background. A bit too much on the floral side for my taste.

Hansen (8615) - Assentoft, DENMARK - FEB 2, 2013
Light golden coloured and clear. Has a white head, diminishing. Aroma with notes of old grains, a bit anoying, faint hoppy notes. Flavor starts sweet, then some more old grains, finish moderate bitter.

Pours a basic gold, with a low sturdy headring .. . God, it was so personal! Like you could see right through me. .. light hop bitterness, it is quite well balanced! .. . bottled 4/5/10 .. . i enjoyed it, but needs more of an aggressive bite .. . smell needs improvement, but other than that .. . Go Brain!

12oz bottle. Aroma is sweet malts, touch of hops. Flavor is sweet, malty, mild. Decent, but mostly unremarkable. A good session beer.

PorterPounder (8294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarkets - 12 oz bottle. Medium golden pour, decently thick sticky white head. Aroma is buttery with some butterscotch accents. Flavor if more full-bodied than expected. Malt oriented flavor with some buttery notes and a sweet hint of butterscotch. A bit of saaz hoppiness permeates the back end. Crisp mouthfeel, overall a decent pils and a solid summer refresher.
