Draught @ Redhook in Portsmouth: This one pours a fairly opaque, ruby tinged dark amber color. There was a small off-white head that left some lacing. Nice nose to this one. Lots of hops on top. Mainly pine, some grapefruit and then a few other hops. A nice balance of what they added in. The taste is very good. A good hop flavor, but not overly bitter Some pine and grapefruit. Lots of malts in the background, but no real sweetness to it. Some caramel and fruit notes peeking through. Nice! jcwattsrugger (12507) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - AUG 10, 2012

On tap at Redhook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH. Pours cooper red with a thin white head. Earthy tones, toasted malts. A good strong brew. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2012
On tap at the brewery in Portsmouth, NH. Pours a lightly clouded, rich red-orange colored body with a finger-width, creamy and frothy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty hoppy and malty sweet. A good amount of orange and tangerine pines with some grapefruit and floral hints. Sturdy caramel sweetness with some dark toffees and stone fruits. Flavor is similar. Slightly candied oranges and tangerines up front with a bigger, sweet caramel and toffee malt backing. A few florals, stone fruits, and a slight malt stickiness before the sweet orange pines grow towards the end with some grapefruit notes and this finishes dry and moderately bitter with a few resins and a sweet caramel and toffee kick. Lengthy aftertaste following a full, slightly sticky body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a hoppy and malty, imperial red. No hint of alcohol and a long, bitter finish. Nice beer.
