Slim Chance ale combines the best attributes of a crisp, refreshing ale without the extra calories. Golden kilned malt and a touch of wheat create this smooth, satisfying ale that is not your typical light beer.

12 o. bottle- Pours pale golden with a decent head and good lacing, aroma is kind of spicy, better than expected in the nose. The flavor is not better than expected, blahh, only with a hint of dirty socks. The flavor mellows out as it sits and the dirty socks kind of fade, it becomes more watered down and flat towards the end.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden yellow with a foamy white head. Light aroma of wheat bread and that’s about it. Flavor is about the same, just a touch of malt and the faintest amount of bitterness. Light body, active carbonation and a slightly water mouth feel. Pretty bland all around but I’d take this over an American Macro Lager any day.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Aroma is a little spicy, a little sweet; floral. Pours pale golden with small head, decent lacing. After tasting, my first thought is: weird. I really don’t know quite what to make of it. It’s bland, that’s for sure, but there are no off-notes. A vast improvement over your average macro light lager, but, and here I want to use the word dull because it doesn’t do much of anything interesting to the taste buds...okay, where did my thought processes go? It’s a little salty, too. Carbonation is medium. I think it would make a great lawnmower beer--something you don’t have to think too much about, but will quench the thirst in the sweltering heat. It’s February, however. My lawnmower has a cape on right now and is hiding from the sun, so....I’m sure the score would be higher in the summer time is what I’m getting at. I think. The only other craft light beer I’ve ever had is Sam Adams Light, and I would much rather drink this, not for quality reasons, mind you, but because Sam Adams Light is too malty for my liking. My overall assessment is that this is interesting, yet dull. It’s a contradiction, I know, but I don’t know how else I can explain this strange beer.

Bottle from BevMo. Bottle. Grainy aroma. Clear golden body, small head. Very mild, but not unpleasant flavor. Some slightly sweet cereal notes.

Bottle during the Superbowl. The pour was pale golden, weak head, weak lacing. The aroma was wheat, rice, corn, grains, touch of citrus fruits. The flavor followed, some toasty/nutty elements mixed in there, citrus stronger than in the aroma, grains supporting, though. Mouthfeel was light, low carbonation, meh.

Better than frat water but not a beer drinkers beer at all. I didn’t finish it.

Not bad for a light beer. It has good malt notes with a light hop feel at the end. It does not come over as being watery. It does have some flavor.
