Draught. Slim Chance... sounded clever. The SCAW Pale Ale didn’t taste quite right at El Palomar, so I thought I would take a chance on this stuff. I’ve been getting into session beers lately, but this... The color is nice; clear gold with a medium, lasting white head with some tight lace. The aroma is basically just light mineral water and carbon dioxide. It’s never a good thing when the strongest aroma the bubbles are bringing out of the beer it fro themselves. The flavor is very faint mineral water and a limp cornflakes finish that it neither sweet nor bitter. Watery, but I won’t dock it too much for that because it’s under 4%. Overall, kinda misses out on tasting like a beer. I know that they were going for lightness, but hops don’t have any calories do they? This just needed something in it to avoid tasting like water. FCBF 09. Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. Sweet grainy malt aroma, rather light. Light flavor as well hints of grainy and sweet malts. No off flavors. A decent, easy drinking session ale. jb (3424) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 16, 2009
FCBF 09. This was portrayed as a light beer and in that category this excels. Malty, some graham crackers, some decent taste and body for a low cal beer. bubbleflubber (2241) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - AUG 12, 2009
Pours clear golden into the glass with an initial head that diminishes to nothing, and sparse suds lace. The nose is of sweet corn and light malt. The flavors, very light, are of sour grains, hints at corn, and some biscuit malt. There is a grassy finish, with some residual biscuit dry-hopping. Unfortunately, all of these are underdone, as the mouthfeel is too seltzery and the body too thin. It’s ok to be a low-cal offering, but it’s only as good as what it is. Bottle. Pours slightly hazy light gold with a one finger white head with not much lacing to speak. The nose is grain, malt and light floral hops. The taste is biscuits, grain, sweet grass and very faint hops in the finish. Lighter, slightly prickly mouthfeel. Not that good. Slim Chance I’ll be buying it again. Ba da bum!

Pint x2 on tap at a local bar. Pours a clear light golden color with little head. Aroma is very sweet, kind of sweet and hoppy. Flavor is kind of bitter with a little malty sweetness, but very subtle. Palate is kind of rough but not too unmanageable. Pair this beer up with a flavorful food for full effect. Nice summer bew. drowland (9160) - Georgia, USA - AUG 5, 2009
Drank straight from the bottle for lack of a glass... Not bad, doesn’t taste too adjuncty, but it’s still a light beer. Aroma reminds of mild soapy water and the flavor is light with a hint of grain and biscuit. jeremytoni (3083) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - AUG 1, 2009
From a bottle poured golden with a fair amount of head. Nice malty flavor with a quick finish. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2009
Sampled at the 8th Annual Music City Brewer’s Festival. Dark yellow, white head. Aroma is sweet, corn cereal, little else. Taste is the same, pale malt, sweet musty corn, metal. mcjay (463) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 29, 2009
Golden color with a white head. Aroma and taste of wheat and hops with a hint of citrus and a mild trace of pine.
