Ok new beer from Redhook one of my "fridge" brewers..it was brewed on March 26th 2003 so its pretty darn fresh
Says it has roasted barley, delicate hops and a touch of rye andd is "slightly unfiltered" whatever that means.
Any way when i pour it into my pint mug it certainlly looks very attractive..nice bright golden yellow..with a small amount of haze..it took a slightly vigorous pour to get a small head..but it soon went to be replaced by a ring around the glass.
The aroma is pretty average..very clean and subdued but still pleasant.
Wow this beer has a great crisp , fresh tase then i can certainlly taste the rye especially in the after taste. Nice and not too bitter..but certainlly the rye sems to make all the difference..excellent..I am enjoying this.
Very nice on the tongue its dry at the start but doesnt finish dry at all..good stuff as far as I am concerned.
This has to be among the most enjoyable summer brews I have yet to encounter..happy I bought a few..very good.
NOTE: this was reviewed back in April 2003..just after the beer was released. Rib Eye (148) - USA - MAY 24, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2004 This is a fine summer quencher; in no way bitter or heavy it is light tasting malty beer with a dry clean finish. Perfectly suitable for drinking in quantity and miles beyond any American macro lager. This will be my summer beer of choice until something better comes along. Very refreshing. pintsize (1041) - Austin, Texas, USA - AUG 17, 2007
Bottle. Crisp, light golden color. Decent head with slight lacing. Sweet malty smell. Nice, clean refreshing taste. Nice carbonation. Very easy to drink. The finish is very unique: dry sweet finish of malt with a slight hint of grains. awebster (166) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 31, 2005
This is a decent beer. Light-bodied, a touch hoppy, but it finishes clean. Good malt representation. ljbrisson (3) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2008 does not count
Draught: Cavanaugh’s, Philadelphia PA. Very thin head that dissipates quickly. Very clear in the glass, and the colour is light amber. Aroma is fruity with a hint of citrus and little hops. Mouthfeel is light-bodied and refreshing, though not watery, with medium carbonation. Medium alcohol content.

Cask at GBBF 2009, 4th August 09. Slightly hazy gold with little head. Nice papaya aroma. Hop flavours hit the front of the mouth, rye flavours linger at the back of the tongue. Very refreshing - a good summer beer. Jayson2425 (167) - Box Elder, South Dakota, USA - MAY 10, 2004
A wonderful golden looking appearance. It is surely a summer beer. One of the better redhooks. IndianaRed (5121) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 26, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2004 Keg at HeRftTDrF’s poured a cloudy unfiltered light amber with a nice head and decent lacing. Aroma was bread and yeast and slightly sweet. Tasted like a Hef, wheaty and yeast, with that cloudy feel on the palate. A pleasant brew that seems a bit under rated. Maybe the bottle lacks something.

Cloudy yellow body, looks like a bottle-conditioned Miller Lite. Light, bright aroma that features peach sweetness and sugar cookie malt. Unobtrusive flavor, has that sugar cookie taste with a light floral hoppiness. This beer doesn’t taste like much but I’m enjoying it! Cavie (4874) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2009
Golden pour. Taste is a mix between a hefeweizen and a summer wheat. Decent.
