"an average barleywine through and through. some nice use of caramel malt and hops, with a thinish body, but slightly richer flavor and aroma. an average BW though, is a better than avg beer. nothing unexpected."

deyholla (11479) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2010
Sampled from the bottle at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured murky yellow brown with a tan head. Aroma had a nice combination of malts and hops. Flavor was much more one note with sweet malts throughout giving a bit of a caramel flavor.

daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 13, 2009
Bottle from Arizona. Nick, you said it right. This is much like an IPA. Pours an amber color. aroma is loaded with citrus hops and some caramel/honey notes. Hoppy flavor. Citrus/spicy hops.

hopscotch (11043) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 11, 2009
Bottle… Mostly clear, burnt orange ale with thousands of minute yeast particles suspended throughout the body. Small, fizzy, white head. The subtle bouquet offers malty, fruity aromatics of caramel and a mingling of dark fruit, fuzzy fruit and tropical fruit. Full-bodied and chewy with bristly carbonation. Caramely and sweet with understated, earthy, hop bitterness. Finishes mostly sweet with a rumor of acidity.

j12601 (10869) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - OCT 30, 2009
Bottle at the release of Flaming Fury. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Sweet caramel on the nose, but not a lot of depth. Bitter finish with a good amount of grapefruit bitterness.

DocLock (10646) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2010
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours copper with ruby edges and 2f ow head and good lacing. Nose is resiny hops, earthy, floral, fruity, with c malt. Tastes very c malty, somewhat cloying, with notes of fruit, bs, hops, berry, and slight funk. Finishes mediocre. Starts OK though.

alexsdad06 (10262) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2014
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99 (from notes). Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had caramel, toffee, herbal and mildly spicy hops, some ripe fruit character and a hint of chocolate. At times comes off a bit harsh.

KyotoLefty (10193) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 29, 2010
Shared on the bus, RBSG. Orange-brown color with lace. Very carmelly, toffee, buttery aroma. Same in the flavor, but it has a sour edge to it as well, actually. Citrus, strong bitterness at the end. OK.

marcus (10138) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 28, 2010
22oz bomber. Pours copper with an attractive beige head and an intense fruity aroma. The flavor is sweet toffee that fades to bitter, with a warm alcohol trail. This is a pretty decent BW.
