(bottle - 22 oz) Managed to save some of this from when the possum in the garage battled my beer shelf. Bastard. Dark copper color with not much head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a nice hint of spices and some vanilla. Flavor is very big and malty. Mild spice but a ton of sugar and malt with some spicy yeast. I can detect very mild vanilla at the end, but mainly it’s sweet malts and light yeast. Some bitterness coming through at the end. Thanks to David for this one. drpimento (3755) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 23, 2009
Interesting beer. I’m impressed. Poured with a nice white head and a little lace. Color is a clear amber. Aroma is a little mild; not much of the Belgian aromas, but nice. Flavors and body are on the soft side, sweet with bitter overtones. Alcohol is sneaky. Great body and carbonation. Finish is easy. Oddly in spite of the alcohol it’s almost a session brew. beernovice39 (3269) - Idaho, USA - DEC 31, 2009
Wow, over 10% and I tasted nothing of the booze, so, look out...easy drinking here. Not my style of choice but this was a surprise, I liked it. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - MAY 4, 2010
Sampled in a 22oz. Pours with a really impressive golden brown hue. Thin white lacey head. The aroma is sweet. The palate is nice but not the best and what you would expect. Great drinking brew. You can taste the alcohol. Prometheus (160) - Bamberg, Bavaria, GERMANY - MAY 24, 2010
Pours golden with a small head and lacing.
Aroma of spice.
Vanilla, cloves in the flavor.
Nice melding of the flavors, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle shared. Poured hazy orangish gold, white head. Nose is vanilla, spice, dark fruit, booze. Taste is also heavy on the spice, vanilla, dark fruit, sweet malt. Mouth is full and warming. Overall, a decent brew. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2012
Originally reviewed: 7/23/09. 22oz picked up at a grocery store while visiting in Charlotte. Poured into my tulip glass. Pours a dark rusty orange with a decent-sized off white head on top. Little retention, and little to no lacing present. Smells of yeast, pineapple, and light breads.
The mouth is spritzy and well carbonated, as I would expect. Flavor is yeasty and slightly tart. Finishes slightly acrid and roasty. That’s a weird aftertaste. Alcohol is pretty well-hidden. Not a bad beer by any means. I’d love to see how this ages. I may have to get another... SpringsLicker (3677) - Tennessee, USA - MAY 14, 2014
Old found notes.
Mostly clear light orange body with a thin white head.
Light malt aroma.
The flavor is lightly fruity following the aroma.
Light body. Hides the alcohol completely.

pours a clear orange with a thin off-white head, and good lacing.
smell is of clove, orange, sweet fruits, white pepper, spice, and some malt.
taste is thick, dry, spice, sour malt, some fruits, and the alcohol is apparent, becomes more sweet as it warms, end is dry.
