We had this beer unfiltered at a beer festival. It was pretty good, but it left us wondering, "Does this have bacon it it?" jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2011
on tap-pours a light tan head and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel/peat. Taste is medium malt-caramel/peat, some spice hops. puboflyons (3467) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - APR 30, 2011
On tap at the brewery in Portsmouth, N.H. It pours reddish-mahogany with little head and slow moving carbonation. The aroma emphasizes the malty, sugary character with little in the way of hops on the nose. The body was on the thin side. It has a moderately sweet taste with a slight hop bite on the end. Good at the pub with lunch. Spelt (232) - East Kingston, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 12, 2011
Beer arrived a nice copper brown with just a slight haze topped with modest tan head. Aroma was of carmel with an interesting hint of what I felt to be pineapple. Taste was again nutty and carmelly but with an odd background that reminded me of bleu cheese. This wasn’t strong but enough to detract with each sip. Body was nice and full. OK beer but the off flavor bothered me. Goodgrief (2056) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - FEB 5, 2011
On tap at the Cataqua brewpub in Portsmouth, NH. Copper pour, smallish head and some lacing. Aroma of wet cardboard. Flavor was smokey and butterscotchy with a funky lagerish bite. Not very good, I’m afraid.
