A very decent winter ale. Shared a bottle with the GF the other night. Pours a nice amber-brown with a soft white head. Nose of roasted and sweet malts. Flavor is sweet up front with notes of caramel and maple, while beneath the surface lies the roasty foundation.Finish is pretty smooth and comforting. Nice beer.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2003 Golden-brown. Toasty, chocolatey, with a floral hoppiness. Body comes up quite empty, though. Toasty, woody notes but not much of that good stuff the aroma promised.
