Just kind of an average beer. It is pretty malty with some caramel but there is a nice bit of hops.

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 6, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2005 (12/10/05, 12oz bottle, bottled on 11/21/05, ABV = 6%) Small beige head topping a clear nut-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, spruce, some pistachio, faint anise, nutmeg -- strange combination. Taste is medium sweet, pine, some caramel, light vegetal. Light-medium body. Definitely seems different from the last time I tried it, and not for the better. (5/3/6/3/11)

(12/6/03, 12oz bottle): Clear garnet body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, spiced, grapefruit, light floral. Taste is medium sweet, spiced, grapefruit/floral. Medium body. (6/4/7/4/14)

Extremley nice fruity aroma with hints of coriander. Taste is definitely a strong bitter with an average finish. Almost peppery on the palate.

On tap (12/10/03). Poured a dark Amber color with a very small tan head. Slight hoppy taste. Not a bad beer but I prefer their ESB.

2.9
bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2003
(Draught) Pours a copper color with a thin white head. Descent tasting beer with a nice clean palate.

slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 18, 2014
"a nice nutty malt flavor greets you, but it kind of goes off the tracks after that. better than their average beer, but with the abundance of winter ales out there, this one is easily passable."

3.2
Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 29, 2008
Pours a bockish colour with some retaining head. Mild malt and spice aroma. Middling mouthfeel. A bit better than average beer.

2.3
deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 31, 2009
Bottle. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma was full of roasted malts, but a little weak over all. Flavor was a bit weak as well with roasted malts and a bit of alcohol.
