The head was thin and didnt last long. The feel on my palate wasnt impressive. It has a nice fruity flavor, but it isnt very strong. It isnt my favorite winter brew.

Bottle courtesy of beastiefan2k pours deep amber with thin white head. Aroma is upfront malt similar to a scotch ale. First tast is sweet malt then a nice resinous hops presence. Finish is malt. Pretty nice.

Bottle. A clear ruby brown beer with a thin tan head. Combination of caramel, nuts and light bitter chocolate makes for a nice aroma. Strong sour vegetable flavor to start but mellows out to a more well rounded but diluted roasted peanut flavor.

Bottle. Dark copper pour with a very thin head. Hops, caramel, and some yeast on the nose. Hoppy flavor up front with sour lemon and malty elements. This beer lacks backbone. There are nice high notes and the hops are decent, but it feels empty with too little middle-maltiness. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel, though.

This is a classic Redhook seasonal ale. Its bold but smooth flavor rests well on my palate as comfortable as a majority as my other favorite beers.

heavier and more body than other winter lagers. there is a robust ginger taste that comes with a bite, almost like a pale ale, but darker, if that makes sense

Definitely pine, slightly like Bells winter ale but generally nothing special, average, not worth more than $1.00 a bottle.

11.28.2011 - Houston, TX Bottle Well crafted winter ale. Dark, yet smooth and simple. Not too filling. Nice aroma with a nice blend of hops that give a delicous palate.

2001I was kind of disappointed in this one. I was expecting a hearty, dark, rich ale, but I got a watered down ESB dark. Dark copper color, weak head that faded quickly and a dark taste that was reminiscent of burnt, watered down ESB (which I do love however). If you are buying several winter brews this year, and need to somehow limit whicch ones you get, this may be the one to leave off. Maybe next year.

Nice Red/Amber color. Lasting head. Pinish hops flavour. Pleasant spiced aftertaste. On tap at Old Chicago
