Redstone’s flagship mead! Lovely color & smooth fruitiness make this our most popular mead. Also blends well with porters, stouts, wheat beers, and sour ales! With the mouth feel and texture of beer and the light taste of a lower alcohol mead this beverage is the very definition of "refreshing".

500ml swingtop shared courtesy of weeare138. Poured a clear purple tinted color with a very small sized head. Aromas of plastic beachballs, with maybe some berries int he background. I just couldn’t get past that nasty plastic aroma. Tastes of berries, lighter plastic, honey, and fruity.

sampled on tap at the San Diego Strong Ale Festival Nov 2008, an event shared with what seemed liked hundreds of ratebeerians and enjoyed mostly through a straw, since my face was a bloody mess of scabs and stitches. poured pink like a shirely temple. sweet fruity aroma. flaovr was berry and honey, pretty much what you’d expect. after a day of imperial stouts, BW and IIPA this was quite refreshing, but not spectactular.

badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 21, 2008
terrible in every way...cherry red body that is completely translucent...aroma of light berry, honey, fruit punch Kool-Aid (or perhaps Tahition Treat pop)..awful Kool-Aid tasting, viscous body..almost like drinking melted Jello, or maybe a watered-down slurpee...yuck!

jmuhops (669) - Winchester, Virginia, USA - JAN 15, 2008
Pours cherry-red with a very small, quickly-disappearing head. Berry-honey aroma with that touch of paper that must be a byproduct of honey fermentation. A tad medicinal. Flavor begins with a blast of berry which quickly settles down into nothingness. It comes back for the finish, alongside a more traditional mead flavor. Interesting, maybe, but not particularly good.

Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Sampled on draught at the Papago Brewing Company tavern in Phoenix, AZ. Pours a clear pink brew with a bubbly ring. Aroma of sweet wild raspberries, honey and a touch of pear. Taste is syrupy, very sweet, with a high alcohol raspberry taste. Finish is just as fruity and sweet as its flavor. Pretty decent fruit mead.

11/17/07: On tap @ Mulholland.
My introduction to Meade. Interesting. Flat looking with a red raspberry color. Sweet, syrupy nose. Flavor of honey and black raspberries. Very sticky. Extra long honey finish (I think I’m still tasting honey the following day!)

Got this at Oaktree, Dan tried to stear me away, I guess, but this is like an alcoholic soda pop.

grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 9, 2007
Dark pink with quickly dissipating head, lots of carbonation. Aroma of cranberries, heavy phenolics Fairly sweet, dead flavor laden with more phenolics, berries and sharp clovery notes. Not what I was expecting, but then I know little about meads. Seems awfully harsh.

Jmichael (640) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 5, 2007
poured into a goblet. pours a clear pink with mild to no head, and no combination. light, very subtle, yet crisp fruity aroma. very liquid palate with a mild subtlety to it. rasberry is consistant thruought gut gets prominant in finish. alchohol is present but not overwhelming.

3.2
scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 14, 2007
Draft at City Steam (Hartford) - Clear pink and still. Nose was basic with notes of honey and blackberry. Candied berry flavors fade into almost a ricey sake like tone. Light bodied with a faint hint of carbonation. Syrupy from start to finish. Decent, but nothing to go out of your way for. Might be good on pancakes though....hmmm.....
