Older flip top glass cask from Redstone -. shared with buds at an impromptu mead tasting. Pours a reddish cola color. Nose of honey, boysenberry and sweet fruits. Taste is warming, with a berry syrup-like flavor and rich honeycomb coating the mouth. Finishes warm and sticky with loads of boysenberries lingering forever on the palate. Yummy stuff. Glad we got to crack this one...

Rich, dark berry, slightly woody, thick flavor. Pretty interesting. onceblind (10327) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 7, 2011
Murky dark plum in appearance. Big delicious aroma of boysenberry, warm alcohol notes, and sticky honey. Flavor is a huge boysenberry bomb with sweet tart boysenberry notes, sweet honey, and warm alcohol finishing notes with a lingering taste of boysenberry syrup. Incredible. UPDATED: JUN 11, 2011 2003 bottle sampled at the Mead Mountain tasting on 1/8/11. Medium to dark red in color. The aroma on this mead makes you stand up and take notice. An explosion of berries and honey that is almost candyish (with a little alcohol noticeable in there too). After a nose like that it’s almost a given that the flavor will let you down, but this one doesn’t. An equal explosion of berries and honey that is super sweet, but never approaches unbearable. We tried a lot of meads during Mead Mountain (and a few new ones a few nights later during Mead Molehill), and this one was clearly the best.
Updated 6/11/11. Just had Jadwiga and rated it 4.4, so gotta give this one a bump because it was better. Not sure why I gave appearance and palate 4 out of 5 to begin with, so making those 5s to push this rating ahead of Jadwiga. Ungstrup (38248) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2008
A pale brown mead. The aroam is sweet and dominated by boysenberries, while the flavor is very sweet again with boysenberries being dominant, but with a light underlying note of honey.
