Dry-hopped with Amarillo and Centennial hops give this Nectar a hoppy nose and a floral & citrus flavor. Hints of bitterness.

The aroma is sweet and a tiny bit plasticky and fruity with the requisite amount of honey. The appearance is pale gold with plenty of bubbles. The taste is like the aroma and quite sweet. The palate is thin but right for a carbonated mead. Overall this is a little disappointing.

This was really interesting and I think I kind of liked it. Looks like off-colored water from a place where you "don’t drink the tap water." Not incredibly appealing, but at least its mead and not beer. Tastes like a lighter mead with some fresh hops. Diane Byrne noted: lychee and Big League Chew. Fo real.

16oz can 2/12/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-40° in Snifter-Pours a clear golden with no head. Aroma of hops, honey, caramel, and apple. Taste of apple, honey, hops, and sweetness. This light bodied mead is different but still tasty.

sampled on tap at the 5th Boulder Strong Ale Fest. poured cloudy white with soapy small head. i really thought my brother in-law just rinsed his class and brought back water to drink. I asked him several times, why did you get water? to my surprise this was the beer. another 1 in appearance, 2nd ever and 2nd of the night! nose was weird metallic taste, really sweet and gross. the brother in-law said it tastes like paint and I’m still not sure how he knows that but it explains a lot about him. anyways, i hated this.

Unknown Date: Redstone Nectar of the Hops has a very pale golden/straw color. Its appearance reminds me of an American macro light lager. The aroms is moderately sweet with nice honey characteristics and is lightly citrusy. There is a good amount of honey flavor in the front with a light clover spiciness as well as a touch of citrus flavor. This mead has a very light amount of carbonation and a medium-light body that is neither too heavy nor too stick. Overall this is the best Redstone offering that I have had so far...

750 ml flip-top bottle (Alcohol 8% by Volume) shared by nvhall. Thanks Nick! Rating #14 for this mead.

Tasting at Savannah Bee at their Broughton St. location in Savannah. The most expensive mead of the group I tasted and the one I liked the least. Pours a clear yellow gold with a fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet honey, citrusy hops, and a bit of apple. The flavor is similar. For me the hops and honey never really mesh together. On the lighter side of medium bodied.

On tap at O’Briens a few days back. Bizarre. Aroma of honey, bread and fruit. Not picking up much hopping here. Flavor was a bit more, but the flavor tasted like a strange sweet tart. Really sweet, really fruit, and really strange. Not sure I’d want to drink this one again, but it was an interesting try.

PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Pours yellow with a mead induced sweet nose. Taste is sweet vinous and very very much a mead. hops are there yes but not much.

Courtesy redlight. Pours a clear, light golden color with a small, fizzy, off-white film at the head. Drippy, spotty sheeting shows on the glass. The aroma starts with a very light honey base, followed by floral notes of lavender and heather, with a strangely dry, grassy hoppiness that just seems out of place. It smells earthy, perhaps even a little dirty, which is entirely out of character for a mead. Flavors aren’t really any better, based in watered down, stale honey that clashes with earthy, musty, grassy hops. Medium-light bodied for a mead, with a bit of a fizz that I don’t really care for, the palate perpetuates the letdown. Odd, and not very enjoyable.

on tap 11/18/2009 at papago. pours a slightly yellow shade of clear. no head but it does leave some severe legging. it smells like flowers... not hops so much, just a straight bouquet. after the initial aroma shock, there are notes of perfume, faint resin, floral hops, mild honey and lots of harsh booze. if the smell of industrial floor cleaner could be translated into a flavor this would be it... the taste is quite similar to the aroma including honey, harsh and a slight tartness. i’m not sure where this is supposed to go... it is just odd, sticky and confusing. ick. 5/3/4/2/10/2.4
