Craft Islington. Opaque dark red - brown beer. Residual tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. No carbonation. Mild tangy dark malt, Whisper of dark fruits. Neutral finish. Lame!

Cask at the Hanging Bat. Pours black, nose is roast chocolate and cherry, taste is sweet fruity toffee.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Islington, London, 26 Apr 2013) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and a touch of liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of cocoa, coffee, liquorice and a balanced chocolatey bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Dark fruit, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, dark fruit, chocolate, slightly sour. Quite interesting.

[cask at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Deep dark brown, thin white head. Aroma of chocolate and cherry. Very smooth morello flavour, leading into roasty, chocolate bitterness. Decent [12032013]

Cask at bat. Thick brown/black pour, creamy beige head. Slight lacto, roast barley, milk chocolate, softest red wine fruits on the nose. Soft dark chocolate, lacto sweetness, tobacco box spice, softest oak tannin and a very slight cherry tartness on an otherwise straightforward roasty finish. Really well-integrated barrel flavours, but lacks a bit of character. Good though.
