33 cL bottle at home. Pours almost black with a large tan head. Aroma is quite fruity with tropical fruits, grapefruit, some roasted malts and chocolate. Taste has a bit more roasted malts upfront, tropical fruits, some chocolate, medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Pretty decent black ipa.

Bottle at home, a couple of days past expiry date. Aroma is piny hops, strong pine resin, herbal and spicy notes, mint, touch of liquorice, roasted malt. Flavour is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Not your typical Black IPA, bit awkward actually, with the mint and herbal notes, strong carbonation, not bad but a bit messy.

Bottle, pours dark brown with a beige head. Dry and bitter, roasty, somewhat dank pine, citrus, liquorice. Nice mouthfeel, but could use more depth.

Brune fonce, noire claire, fine mousse beige. Senteurs dagrumes et de rsineux. Bouche sur le pamplemousse et les rsineux, fin de bouche brule et astringente lie aux malts noires, comme souvent sur les black IPA. Pas mal mais pas mon style...

AshtonMcCobb (5911) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 6, 2016
Bottle from Ship In A Bottle. Appearance - opaque black with a nice fluffy fawn head. Nose - wood and plant stalk, something a bit menthol and resin generally. Not getting much chocolate or citrus. Taste - minty as f**k. At the very back theres something lightly creamy that might resemble milk chocolate or instant coffee. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet drying texture and a long dry finish. Overall - where is the chocolate? Where is the citrus?

330ml bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours black with a thick ecru head. Aromas of wood, plant stalks, resin. Taste is woody, bitter, minty. Odd. Exhale is menthol! Faint creamy latte. Not getting on with this.
