Can from Cotteridge, consumed at home on Pond Building Weekend Pt2. Indoors now cooking a Peruvian Salmon Cervische dish, a posh cous cous, and roasted red pepper soup. Saturday 29th April 2017 Pours black with a slim head. Really smooth, rich and with a creamy mouthfeel. Coffee, chocolate and there is even a touch of liquorice coming through. A little bit of smokiness, it’s a very nice stout. A7 A4 T8 P5 Ov15 3.9

Can. Nose is licorice, coffee and smoke, plummy fruitiness. Taste is dark fruits plum leading to smoke, ash, big licorice, coffee, dark chocolate and cherry. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light. A really accomplished Imperial stout.

Taster at Brewdog Edinburgh tap takeover. Pours thick oily black, tight tan head. Aroma of charcoal and licorice. A bit too much licorice on the taste for me unfortunately. Good full mouthfeel, but it’s obviously boozy, and apart from the licorice issue there wasn’t much complexity in the taste. Suspect it benefits from barrel ageing.

Bottle at home, 28th March 16. Pours black and elegant. Aroma is complex, dark chocolate, leather, wood, barrel. Taste is rich and really complex, slightly unusual, smoke, leather, slight salt, dark chocolate. Lovely impy

Drank with Rik 16-2-2016 at my place. Good stout. Plenty of taste, good body. Taste is mainly very nice chocolate, also smoky.

Colore nero impenetrabile con leggera schiuma, al naso deciso tostato e cioccolato. In bocca la linea è identica al naso, con una bevibilità ottima che nasconde alla grande la gradazione.

Aroma is full of dark fruits like blackberries. Flavour has those bittersweet fruity notes too. Intense smooth and warming.
