A decent Dubbel overall. Pours a clearish red with a white head. Smells of Apple and pear. More apple and pair in the taste, with a bit of an empty finish. Tasted at the Black and White Beer Ball for SF Beer Week. mcberko (18600) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 22, 2013
On tap at Redwood Curtain Brewing, pours a murky dark orangey amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, dry dark fruits, and some sweet caramely notes. Flavour brings out lots of Belgian yeast, toasted malt, toffee and toasted bread. A little sweeter than a traditional dubbel, but still pretty true to style. Well-balanced and drinkable. Good one. hayduke (5616) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 14, 2012
On draft at The Local Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. This came in the glass a rich dark brown with red around the edges, with a good sized tan head and thick lacing. Nose of ripe fruit. Medium plus body with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. The flavors are sweet and malty and the finish is long and sweet with a lightly bitter aftertaste. A solid version of the style, and as it warmed became very nice drinking.
