Rating #378, bottle from Fish and Beer Blom (837) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 16, 2009
Hazy light copper coloured and really no head. Aroma is pilsener malts and caramel with some flowery notes that might be buckwheat - I must admit that I don’t know how buckwheat smells. Taste is caramel and a bit spicyness; hops or buckwheat I can’t tell, but my guess is hops. Nutty notes, too. The ending is very mild bitter with nutty aftertaste. No metallic notes as many other has expierienced. Creamy, soft, quite thick beer. Fine, but not a master piece.
This beer tastes more like a Heller Bock than a Hefeweizen.
Why is it categorized as a Hefeweizen any way? Buckwheat is not a cereal any way and even less a kind of wheat. This beer is probably brewed with pilsener and caramel malts added the buckwheat nut or flower.
I would categorize it as a spice/herb/vegetable, or maybe a more definative beer style depending on the brewing method.
Golden. Sweet aroma: corn and walnuts. The flavour is sweet and the buckwheat is clearly present - but it ends a bit disharmonic on a metallic note.

Bottle. Poured a clear pale gold with a white head. Aroma had notes of grain, bread, corn and a bit of a metallic note. The metallic note was also present in the flavor that had similar notes to the aroma. Christian (13605) - Odense, DENMARK - MAY 8, 2009
Clear golden with a firm white head. Aroma is nuts, grain and cereal - much like I’d expect from buckwheat - with a slightly metallic edge. Flavour is sweetish buckwheat and caramel, somewhat watery, but refreshing and drinkable. A gateway beer for soda pop drinkers?

33cl bottle @ Refsvindinge. Pours clear gold with a small white head and no lacings. Nose is sweet of corn. Buck and wheat. Very thin palate. Citric and dry. Not good! Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2008
Courtesy of Yespr. Warm golden with an OK head. The aroma has sweetness, notes of buck wheat and flowers. The flavour has sweetness, notes of buck wheat, a light citrussy bitterness and even if it’s no "big" beer, it’s smooth, nice and charming. yespr (44810) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - APR 30, 2008
33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a diminshed white head. Woody and dry malt aroma. Flavour is quite sweet, light toffee roasted note joining in and takes the flavours into the light roasted dry malty side. Ends with a smooth sweet flavour, minor bitterness. Bottle. Pours yellow with medium head. Buckwheat and and some caramel in nose. Watery light body. Herbs and flowers in taste but its too weak and boring. Bragesnak (5394) - Aarhus, DENMARK - APR 21, 2008
Buckweed dominated aroma and flavor. It will never be my favorite grain
