Grundsmørning for treski? Holmen2 (3567) - NORWAY - MAY 6, 2017

Flot stout i glasset, med fint skum. Svag aroma. Næsten ingen bitterhed, men en tydelig røgsmag som forbliver i ganen.
Varmer fint fra alkoholen og en god øl, som kan anbefales. Ikke sidste gang den har været i glasset.

33 cl bottle at dia’legd bar, Copenhagen. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Sweet aroma with smoked notes, ham, dark malts, butterscotch, caramel and liquorice. Taste is sweet-smoked. Medium body with a creamy texture and a flat carbonation. As always with the Refsvindinge beers, palate doesn’t feel right. Finishes smoked with liquorice and caramel malts. One of the better efforts from Refsvindinge brewery.TorbenJensen (1517) - Valby, DENMARK - SEP 24, 2015

This porter is black with short foam which leaves individual foamy islands on beer top. It smells very smoky, and reminds of the same brewery ship’s beer, though perhaps a little more subdued in flavor. The taste is slightly malty with dark chocolate and strong coffee notes and a very generous use of smoked malt. I think it’s more a smoked beer than a porter. There are of course also smoked porters but this tangent is more smoked beer. Initially, the port’s dark and hearty malt flavor, but the smoke is its expression to a degree that makes it very distinctive and peculiar. A small slight hoppy bitterness keeps it exactly from becoming too pervasive smoked.
