3.3
Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 30, 2013
Pours a light straw color with a two finger sticky foam. Nice bready aromas with a touch of fruity yeast peaking through. On the palate its clean and refreshing with nice light round maltiness adding some depth to the body and great mouthfeel. A great session beer with all the attributes a beer of this style should have. Yum.

About as run-of-the-mill as you can get with a Kolsch, grainy and semisweet, light and smooth, hints of fruity lager esters mixing with modest floral hops on the finish. Better than plenty of American takes on the style, but still ultimately leads to the opinion, Eh, it’s just a kolsch.

L16155 12:30 5/3/17 Grassy, sour bread aroma. Clear yellow-gold, tall white heat, leaving plenty of lacing. Lots of bubbles on the initial pour, but becoming pretty flat after that. Fruity, somewhat sour biscuit and grass. Thin, light mouth feel. The sourness lingers into the aftertaste. Mild and easy drinking but the sour taste is ever present. Very slight hops bittering in the finish.

0.5l bottle. Crystal clear golden body with a quickly collapsing white head. Aroma of bread, grains and hay. Taste of bread, grains, hay and a hint of floral hops. Light bodied and effervescent. As most kölsch beers, this one isn’t a flavor bomb either, but it’s clean and refreshing.

For the book. Aroma is sweet, funky, corn, earthy hops, slight metallic, unappealing. Appearance is golden, clear, off white head. Taste is earthy hops, metallic, corn, slight funk, it’s a kölsch. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, earthy hop and sweet corn aftertaste. Overall, it’s boring but not undrinkable.

0.2 l on tap at ’Pinte’. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, grassy-spicy aroma of straw, grains and slightest hints of citrus. Slightly bitter, grassy-spicy and a little fruity taste of grains, straw and hints of citrus, followed by a short, rather bitter, grassy-spicy and slightly metallic finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Bottle. Brilliantly clear, light golden yellow. Fizzy white head, long lasting. Grainy sweet notes in the aroma, light green apple. Slight fruit. Clean flavor, crisp finish. Dry grains, low fruit. restrained bitterness. Smooth. Lovely example.
