UPDATED: JUN 30, 2013 From bottle and on draught at the 1st Annual Kölsch Fest at Prost. Light golden color. Creamy slightly floral aroma. Sweet malty flavor with an almost nutty finish. Crisp and clean!

Served on tap. Crystal clear straw-golden colour. Thick lasting white foam. Slightly herbal tending towards citrusy aroma. Slightly malty smooth flavour well balanced by the low-bitterness. The low body, the low carbonation and the 4.8% Abv make it a refreshing beer. A milestone in the kölsch panorama in Cologne.

Bottle - light yellow / orange, high carbonation but only a small white head. Faint aroma, but pleasant. Slight ting on tongue. Slight zesty, part lemony - smooth.

Pours warm gold with almost no head (like my current dating life). Smells like a kolsh. Tastes like a kolsh. Light, smooth, nothing special, but nothing I special either. Why pay extra? Just get a bud light. Jk bud light sux. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ar: Pale, crackery malt; slight sulfur; some apple aroma and light sweetness; fine, dried-flower hop aroma. Ap: Clear golden; medium-large white head with good retention, very thick and frothy, settling into a thick cap, with some clinging sheets of foam on the glass sides. T: Lightly grainy up front; quite clean, with some mild notes of hay, toast, apple, and grape; low bitterness, very soft, with a dried flower flavor; grainy malt, hint of pineapple, chalk, and soft bitters linger on the finish. P: Medium-light body with high carbonation; finish is dry. O: An excellent kolsch; light graininess and relatively clean fermentation profile; quite drinkable; a bit more fruitiness than a lager, but still quite a pure showcase of pilsner malt and noble hops.

Just enjoyed sampling and critiquing this beer during our recording of the second episode of the soon-to-be-released South Carolina Beer Scouts podcast! I was excited to finally sample an authentic Kolsch from one of the original Cologne breweries, thanks to Michael for finding a fresh imported bottle of this! Poured into a pilsner flute, this featured an exceptionally foamy head which retained itself for a while atop some lazy lacing bubbling through the pale-straw body of this beer. Aroma was distinctly of un-salted saltine crackers with some light floral noble hops, mellow and inviting. Flavor was likewise a crackery maltiness with some mild fruity and grassy notes, exceedingly well balanced between the subtle malty and estery notes. Just a slight touch of bitterness. Light-bodied and as smooth as any other Kolsch, I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable and easy-drinking brew!

About as run-of-the-mill as you can get with a Kolsch, grainy and semisweet, light and smooth, hints of fruity lager esters mixing with modest floral hops on the finish. Better than plenty of American takes on the style, but still ultimately leads to the opinion, Eh, it’s just a kolsch.

L16155 12:30 5/3/17 Grassy, sour bread aroma. Clear yellow-gold, tall white heat, leaving plenty of lacing. Lots of bubbles on the initial pour, but becoming pretty flat after that. Fruity, somewhat sour biscuit and grass. Thin, light mouth feel. The sourness lingers into the aftertaste. Mild and easy drinking but the sour taste is ever present. Very slight hops bittering in the finish.
