Draught @ Gastropub Praha
Aroma has gooseberry bush, some vanilla, fruits and hints of cinnamon. Flavour is slightly tart hops, gooseberry bush, some nettles, vanilla and hints of bun dough. Leathery palate with slightly too much CO2. Decent, the hops feel a bit old here. Also the yeasty bun dough notes disturb here. Perhaps a bit old keg?

50 cl bottle @ Pienpanimoiden Pieni Olut-tapahtuma, Mallaskoski, Seinäjoki
A lot better. Feels fresh with nice hop profile and no signs of yeast. Score estimate 3.5.

50 cl bottle @ home as ”Ruukin Vaalea”. Rated on 6.7.2014
Aroma has sweet fruity notes and hops. Flavour has hops, peaches, minerals and a Belgian feeling. A bit watery and flat at the end of the glass. Easy to drink but could be more aggressive with hops.

Bottle as "Famu&Bar" at Scandic Park, Helsinki. Pours copper orange hazy with a big off-white head. Nice aroma with lots of tropical fruits, mostly mango. The taste has mostly bitterness with some fruitiness and unpleasant vegetables.

Bottle at Porvoon Paahitmo, Porvoo. Dark amber, hazy, with a nice white head on top. Odd smell. Sweat and smoked meat. Sweet taste with a smoky sourness underlying it. Short to medium finish. Weak watery palate. More smoke and some herby notes in the aftertaste. Weird. And while there are some APA-y notes in there, they are fairly well hidden. Not sure what the brewers were aiming for but it doesn’t light my fire.

Cloudy yellow ochre, frothy off-white head, sticky patchy lacing. Sweet and bitter citric aroma, grapefruit, pine, tangerine. Crisp feel, quite light to nearly watery, dry, bitter, too much carbonation, dry citric finish. Warming brings caramel malt. Ok, not more.

Alias Ruukin Vaalea, kuulemma kuitenkin samaa tavaraa kuin Amerikan Serkku. Kirkas kullankeltainen, hieman kupariseen kallellaan oleva olut kohtalaisella, höttöisellä valkoisella vaahdolla. Miedossa tuoksussa hienoista kevyttä maltaisuutta sekä aivan aavistus hedelmää kevyellä makealla karamellisuudella höystettynä. Maku hieman metallinen sekä havuinen ja ruohoinen. Aavistuksen maltainen, jälkimaussa ikävä metallinen polttelu. Aavistuksen katkera. Hiilihappoja on runsaasti. Melko kevyt ja todella lyhyt jälkimaku, mutta kuitenkin hiilihappojen myötä sopivan raikas kokonaisuus.

Bottle from brewery. Copper semiclear with small head. Pale malts and dishwasher. Flavour is oddly smoky like some other Rekola products. Hops, but not very much of it and a watery palate.

Pulls your mouth together like when you put that caramel powder on your tongue as a kid. A bit like sand in your mouth. Strange. Not as much American as I was hoping for. In taste nor colour. Interesting bitter after taste though.

Iha aight, mutta liian vetinen ollakseen sitä herkumpaa mitä serkumpaa. Menettelee.

50cl bottle from brewerys gift shop. Decent ale with citrus notes and quite bitter and long after taste.

SperkeleForce (791) - FINLAND - APR 20, 2015
Bottle 50 CL. Pours murky orange with white frothy head. Notes of citrus, pine, dishwater. Weak taste and aroma, kind of an disappointment.
