Ratings with a slight adjustment (but certainly not enough) for an old and infected bottle. Unappealing vegetal aroma. Some of this carriers over to the flavor. At least the smooth body is better than average.

Pours bark brown, head diminished almost immediately. Nose is of dark molten chocolate, quite appealing. Body is quite thin, I expected more. Flavour is of more chocolate, cocoa, subtle roastiness, and low bitterness.

Nose is Nesequick and chocolate syrup - appealing in a nostalgic sense. Falls apart from their. Flat, dank and hard going even for 5%. Really thin and a strange tang to the finish. Bottle. Pours a flat cola brown with a thin trace of foam that quickly disappeared. Even a vigorous swirl of the glass was to no avail as it brought about no head to speak of...it’s a stubborn one. Sweet aroma of chocolate syrup, nuts and coffeeish notes. The chocolate really dominates the flavour but it’s just overly sweet. It’s surprisingly thin in mouthfeel. Very low bitterness for balance and as evident on the pour the lack of carbonation has stunted this beer big time. Unfortunately it just doesn’t really tick the boxes overall. 500ml bottle. Black hue with average sized tan frothy head which quickly and fully diminished, would have given a 5/5 for appearance if the head didn’t disappear so quickly. Wonderful heavy dark chocolate coffee and toasted malt aromas. Taste is moderately chocolaty sweet , finishing with a touch of burnt coffee and dark Ghana bitterness. Medium body, smooth, slightly chalky feel, soft carbonation.

Bottle: Nice aroma of chocolate but not overly strong. Appearance is nice, pitch black with a nice head which unfortunately disappeared quite quickly which lets it down. Sweet taste with lots of chocolate which seems to diminish as I get to the bottom of the glass. I found the palate to be a bit thin and watery. Poured a decent tan head on a black body but it didn’ t last long. Dark chocolate on the nose with a hint of coffee. Bottle, pours black with a quickly dissipating bubbly head - quite carnonated. Roast malt on the nose with chocolate and herbal notes. Burnt more than roasted malt on the palate. Pours black with thin tan head which disappears very quickly. Dark, roasted malt aromas along with dark, cocoa-y chocolate. Tastes very dark too - black malt and rich cocoa flavours, with a pleasant - like cacao beans. The body is a little on the watery side, but this works very well to balance the rich and bitter flavours.
