500 ml bottle from the Party Source at home. Pours a dark brown color with reddish highlights and a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, oatmeal sweetness, thin, shows some age, ok but I wouldn’t buy this again. nathan30533 (1020) - Clifton, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2015
Chocolate and tasty brew. This one looks dark but is very balanced and enjoyable for a chocolate oatmeal stout. DuffMan (10424) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 22, 2015
Clearly this must be an older bottle! Medium-dark brown body, copper highlights, lively tan head. Chocolate and bitter roast, somewhat hard mouthfeel, lively carbo. A bit on the thin side. I’m sure time has not served this beer well. skortila (5850) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2014
Bottled. New Zealand holiday 2011-12. Old notes. The aroma has cacao, chocolate, roast, hint of coffee. Black coloured beer with athin, off-white head. The taste islight-moderate bitter, chocolate, roast. Nice, smooth and full bodied mouthfeel. Some carbonation. Spab (3834) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2012
500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an oily dark brown with modest-sized light brown head. Aroma is dark roasty chocolate, coffee and nuts. Flavour is lots of roasty, dark cocoa, earthy coffee character and light nuts and fruit. A bit dry in the finish. Nice.

Bottle. Black beer with a brown head. Roast and light coffee aroma with light chocolate. Malt and light caramel flavor with chocolate. Medium bodied. Chocolate and light caramel lingers with light earthiness. chris__hartley (445) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 28, 2012
It pours burnt coffee and almost opaque; the head is tan and soapy. The aroma has notes of: soy sauce, milk-chocolate, oatmeal, and star anise (faint). The taste is light umami and finishes light bitter; there are notes of: soy sauce, espresso, oats, and bitter cacao. The palate is medium-light, watery, very little carbonation, and a medium finish. Overall, it’s tasty, but really lacks booty. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a ridiculously thick tan head. Lots of chocolatey maltiness to the nose on this one. Nice and chocolate notes to the taste, too, though it’s awfully carbonated. Cybercat (5830) - Georgia, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Sample I got fizzed quite a bit, if not volcanically, so have a towel handy. It pours a warm sable with a very thick, fluffy, rather persistent tan head. Rick, smoky aroma has notes of quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, caramel and brown sugar with some nutty and earthy hints.. Slightly powdery texture has average body but plenty of fizz, and leaves a chocolaty, earthy finish. Overall, a well-crafted beer. bhensonb (15188) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 20, 2012
Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brown/black with a fizzy, but substantial, dark tan head that went down rapidly. Aroma is carbon dioxide and chocolate. Med minus body. Flavor is reminding me of a cookie of some sort. There’s a lot of dark chocolate and coffee. It’s lightly sweet in the finish, but the various bitters balance that out.
