nearbeer (5752) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2017
500 ml. bottle with no date stamp and 6.5% abv indicated. Ebony with a disc of spongy cream on top. Aroma is molasses with bits of soy, orange, earthy cocoa and smoky espresso. Flavor is the same nice mix, with some touches of rye eventually developing in the long finish. Medium bodied with smooth low-medium CO2 and an easy drinking balance.

kermis (15285) - The Hague / Amsterdam / Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 5, 2017
Draft at Zeezicht, Breda. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of fruity hops, roast, dark chocolate, grassy notes and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation

DocLock (11258) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2017
Bottle from Whole Foods PM. Pours hazy black with frothy, tan head. Nose was roasty dark malt, raisin, hops, rye. Tastes dark malty, with notes of rye, hops, molasses, and a bitter finish.

tfredvik (2114) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 2, 2017
Pours a slightly hazy, very deep brown body with a creamy, dense, light tan head that sticks to the glass and ends up as a fully lasting layer. Very strong aroma with a close to perfect hop/malt balance. Sweet fruits, some tropical fruits, dark caramel, milk chocolate and roasted malt, with some pine in the back. Strong flavour of chocolate, coffee, dark roasted malt, citrus, pine, resin, generic fruits with hints of tropical fruits and rye bread. Light sweet taste with a long-lasting rather heavy bitter finish. Mid-bodied, dry and quite lively carbonation. Nice!
[33 cl bottle, 6.66% ABV, enjoyed 4 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Ullevål, Oslo]

ABS (1142) - Stokke, NORWAY - DEC 1, 2016
Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. ABV is labeled as 6.66%. Black body. Foamy, slightly tan head. Hops, floral, citrus, roasted malt and coffee, milk flavour. Bitter. Medium to thin body. Lots of carbonation.

alexsdad06 (11561) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 14, 2016
Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball from notes (also a bottle). Pours a hazy brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, ash, coffee, earthy hop bitterness, spicy rye notes, the draft version was better than the bottle by a couple tenths.

Leighton (23401) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2016
Draft at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - London. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds burnt bread, pine, earth. Light sweet flavour with big torched earth character, more ash, burnt pine, charred malts. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with robust bitterness, more earth, baking cocoa, scorched pine. Not bad, but too ashy.
