This one has a pretty big head, which is not seen as much in Impy brews usually. Beige, fluffy, foamy, great retention, thick soapy lacing. The beer is a deeper amber than average with a slight haze. Grassy nose with some citrus, grapefruit mostly, oranges, with caramel malt in the background. Becomes quite fruitier with time... nice. Smooth mouthfeel, wet and refreshing, but does finish with a light dryness. Bitterness is mild, but nicely present. Flavours are well-balanced with roasted malts, caramel malts, fruity notes, grassy hops. Goes down very nicely for such a high alcohol content. Nothing too crazy, but a good easy-going Impy IPA. chris__hartley (443) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2013
It pours slightly hazy copper with ruby highlights; the head is beige and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: pine, melon, toffee, alcohol, wood-notes, and dried apricots. The taste is light sweet that finishes medium bitter; there are notes of: apricots, toffee, alcohol, biscuit, grapefruit, and slight pineapple. The palate is medium-full bodied, slick, has medium carbonation (tiny bubbles), and a long bitter finish. Overall, a great IIPA, finally lots of malt back-bone. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2013
500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass. In honour of IPA Day.wilderthanyou (758) - Guelph, CANADA - JUL 31, 2013
App.: Cloudy burnt orange-copper with a so-so orange-tan head.
Aroma: Rich maltiness, lots of dark rye bread crust and brown sugar/treacle, quite pungent and somewhat dank/resinous, lightly fruity, a little citrusy, nice.
Palate: Medium+ body, relaxed, fine effervescence.
Flav.: Lots of rich malts, pungent and spicy, a touch brothy, lots of rye bread crust, caramel/treacle, burnt sugar, a touch fruity, quite assertive; off-dry with good bitterness and a long, pungent, malty finish.
A little different and quite nice.
Pours a hazy burnt orange with an off colour head. The aroma is piney, grapefruit, hoppy goodness balance by a nice malty caramel background. The flavour starts out with some good pine and grapefruit bitterness, sweet ripe orange note, caramel malts for balance, ends on a lingering citrus rind note. Nothing new here, but solid enough, I enjoyed it. robinvboyer (4611) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 28, 2013
dark copper pour, thick, sticky off white head. muted, and very slight, but there is a tropical fruit, slightly citrus aroma, with a very solid malt backbone. the mouth feel is perfect, as well is the carbonation. the finish is sticky, and bitter, with a solid amount of pine hops, with some acidity, and some citrus, and more great cereal malts. the alcohol shows itself in the finish, but its not harsh, or off putting.

pours hazy copper-orange with a nice light beige head, some retention and lacing. fresh and juicy watermelons, other tropical fruits, nice caramel and lightly spicy and toasted malts, booze, citrus, kiwi, strawberry. some sweetness. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily, tropical-citrusy finish. like drinking spiced melon juice. nice offering. Bottle from the LCBO. Turbid copper-red body with a large and creamy slightly-off-white head. Aroma and flavour both have the expected characteristics for a solid Imperial IPA - juicy tropical & citrus fruit, some evergreen tree resin, solid caramel malt to support. Medium bodied with a long, grapefruit peel finish. Doesn’t break any new ground, but very solid for what it is. hangunder (305) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 14, 2013
Smells nice, some biscuity malts, fruity and spicy hops -- somewhat sweet smelling. Hazy copper color with long lasting brownish head. Tastes interesting, upfront get a lot of malty sweetness, some roastyness, bitterness building as it’s swallowed with a slightly fruity and sweet aftertaste. Pretty interesting bold flavors. Kind of thin bodied for a double IPA, average carbonation. blankboy (7662) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2013
Bottle [500ml]. Pours a murky orange-copper with an average size semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Some minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet, fruity and hoppy, also citrusy and floral. Flavour is also sweet, citrusy and hoppy along with some light pepper, earthy notes, a bit of alcohol and a moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good, I enjoyed it.

500 mL bottle. I guess this was probably brewed in 2012. Really translucent, dark, rusty brown, with a small beige head. Head is nice, colour not so much. Mild but pleasant aroma of spicy hops and sweet caramel. The flavour is the best feature of this beer. Which is good. There is just enough malt presence to stop this beer from being one-dimensional. Nice bitterness.
