500ml bottle from LCBO. Rather attractive pour - slightly hazy copper-orange with a large fizzy/creamy tan fairly lasting head - looks a lot like Fuller Vintage Ale. Smells good - malty, a bit boozy, very floral but with plenty of blood orange and citrus zest. Taste follows, even more orange, not as boozy as it smells, but it packs a late kick - slightly better aroma than flavour. Chewy, fairly thick mouthfeel, good and lively, with a long, coating citrus pith bitter finish. I will buy a few more of this one - best of the herrbrown1974 (427) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 1, 2013
Bottle from the ontario government monopoly. Golden orange pour, quick white head. Big sharp tropical fruit aroma. Slight vodka booziness. Caramel malt and a little floral. A little sticky and acidic. Full body. Bitter and boozy throughout, as to be expected. Nice balance and very drinkable with unique floral hoppiness. Bang on DIPA. In your face hops, and these hops were citrus tangy, with some white wine character. Big foamy head. A bit boozy. Good drinkability on taste.LCBO treat. Crit (4049) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2013

(500ml bottle) Picked this little guy up from Hillside Liquor for $8.90. Pours a decent yellow head atop a solid orange body. Very citrus and malted. Reminds me of Phillips Amnesiac. Fairly sweet but good hop profile. Good.

500mL bottle, pours a murky orangey brown with a small beige head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citusy hops, grapefruit and sugary caramel malt - not the most aromatic, but rather subdued. Flavour reveals a more malt-heavy IIPA, with lots of caramel malt, tropical fruits (mango, peach and pineapple), some bitter grapefruit rind and citrus hops. Seems a bit under-attenuated with some residual sugars, but not too much of a flaw. Solid drinkable IIPA that’s a bit messy. mgermani (1002) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2013
Pours a hazy light chestnut brown with a lovely off-white head with great retention and loads of lace. Modest fruity aroma, almost bready. Light citrus flavour (chinotto?) and some chocolate, peppery, present alcohol. Decent carbonation and crisp body. Overall, a surprisingly bitter beer from New Zealand. Nice! jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Murky orange-amber with modest, creamy white head / Dull nose of citrus, pine, and caramel / Medium body, malty and sweet, flabby hops, with modest bitter finish / Muddy flavors of sour malt, cooked citrus orange &, grapefruit, pine, and caramel / Decent. Just for the record - I was drinking Rakau hops before it was trendy back in the 80’s. Dark amber liquidy stuff, small light tan head on a careful pour. His is a pretty malty smelling beer - an underwhelming aroma as I put high expectations on this knowing nothing of the brewer. Mellow orangy, earthy, grapefruity, spicy, soap candy nose, hints of mint - it’s a nice aroma and a bit unique but I gotta try hard for it. The longer I drink the spicier it gets. Light caramel, very spicy hops, earth - not quite dank, bitter grapefruit, trying to be piny, more undistinguishable malts as a good base. Tons of spice and heat. This beer really evolved. I dig it. Flavour gains strength but not complexity. It’s more than medium bodied and has a ton of long lasting bitterness. pintbypint (3760) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 12, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2013 500ml brown bottle. Labelled as M.P.A. Imperial India Pale Ale, and listed as 8.5% abv. Dark gold, hazy. Small but creamy white cap, ok lace. Nose has light citrus and caramel. Taste has grapefruit and light tropical notes, big caramel malt, hint of nut and toasty malt. Finish is dry with a bit of grapefruit. Bitterness is light but ok. Fine carbonation, smooth, medium body. Not bad, maltier than I expected, but good...
