Bottled. Got this beer from Andy when visiting the brewery somewhere after Christmas 2011. As promised, me and my wife waited a year to open it. :-) Great beer. Very full malt fruity aroma. Dark red coloured beer with a slight off-white head. The taste is initially sugary sweet, with raisin, port, molasses. Moderate bitterness evolves towards the finish. Nice, well-balanced barley wine.

1st time barley wine very interesting, pours caramel colored with no head, at first toffee caramel fruity bit strange wow by the end mighty fine, enjoyed

A nice barley wine. Sweet but not too sweet. Smells of caramel and bread fresh out of the oven. Flavor is a nice mix of roasted malt and caramel. Even though it’s a few years old I wasn’t getting much of that raisiny goodness that comes from a bit of oxidation that I expected, and I kind of wish it was there. Still, an enjoyable beer.

12 oz bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a hazy orange amber color with very little head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malt, vanilla, dark ripe fruit, almost seems barrel aged. The flavor is much of the same with the addition of some mild bitterness to a soft finish.

Bottle to snifter (shared by me with the group). Looks solid; a semi-transparent caramel with razor-thin off-white lacing and very soft carbonation. Smells good; sweet and malty with notes of caramel and maple. Almost smells bourbon barreled. Tastes like it smells, only not barreled and less robust. Nice and smooth on the palate. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Belmont Station. Pours hazy amber with no head. Aroma of brown sugar/maple. Full bodied. Not too sticky. Flavors of brown sugar/maple/hop, and light berry. No heat. Quite pleasant.

Pours caramel with no head and a maple aroma. There is a sweet maple flavor with a warm alcohol trail.

Bottle shared by Dr Silverworm. Poured yellow orange in color with an average white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and dark fruit aroma. Moderate to heavy smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor to medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a complex sweet beer.

Bottle, shared with tmoney99. Hazy orange brown color... Fine particles in the body, minimal white head. Fruity nose, figs, bigger caramel malt. Some earthy, lightly herbal hop. Toffee, nuts.. Bigger body. Lighter carbonation, but kind of slick, with a more warming dry finish. More sweet taste, slightly cloying. Light bitter. Interesting, complex aroma, but taste is a little distracting, not as smooth as it could be, and a bit too sweet and warming.
