COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Designed first and foremost to be served on beer engines and in the future as a cask or bottle conditioned ale, this beer is inspired by the boldly hoppy Ales of old that were exported from Britain to the furthest corners of her vast and glorious empire, Voyager I.P.A. is a rich satisfying Ale with an emphatic hop bite.

It is brewed with pale ale malt from Canterbury, and small additions of European specialty malts to yield a malt base on which to build its hop edifice.

We generously hop it with two Kiwi hop varieties for bitterness then finish it with Fuggles (as a nod to I.P.A.’s British origin) and New Zealand bred Riwaka hops for a spicy floral finish.

I’ve had this on the hand pull, where it made a lovely smooth summer afternoon ale, now trying it with carbonation, from the 500ml bottle. Pours rich brown with a full head, from which the predominant aroma are the Riwaka hops. Full and bitter in the mouth, but with a lovely smoothness from a nicely balanced malt. The sprucey notes of the New Zealand hops is probably a bit too overpowering, especially on the after-taste. It’s a typically New Zealand IPA, which is fine, but not quite capturing the British heritage I think they may’ve been going for. That aside, this is a lovely sprightly drop.

Pours dark amber from the bottle. A frothy white head lingers. The aroma is floral with caramel and vanilla undertones. Taste is mildly bitter, a bit stale at the finish. (Expires next year, June.) Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Overall nice aroma with a mediocre taste.

Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth´s House. A almost clear deep golden beer with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of orange fruits, bitter fruity hops, soft resinous hops. TASte of orange fruits, zest, mild resinous hops, medium bitterness, quite nice!

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2017 Pours an average amount of foamy head but goes away fairly quickly. Has an amber/coppery appearance. Has earthy, rusty like hop aromas with some roasted malts. Flavours of malted barley, light caramel and toffee hints with some resin and darker earthy, citrus hops. Also some notes of bready malts and some fairly bitter hops in the finish. Tingling mouthfeel. Nice and crisp bitter sweet balance of hops. Pretty good stuff but not a constant go-to kinda beer.

simontomlinson (559) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2017
Thin bubbly beige head stayed on a reddish brown still body. Minimal malty aroma. Thick & cloying. Minimal carbonation. Malty tastes with dark berries, caramel & faintly hoppy on the aft. Very similar to a standard English IPA.

330ml bottle. Pours orange brown. Caramel, biscuit, strawberry, blackberry, black pepper, orange marmalade. Nice full body. Not usually a fan of more English style IPAs but the body and malt profile on this are hard to say no to. Nice.

clear dark golden to amber colour, medium sized off-white head; aroma and taste of citruses, bittery orange zest oils, marmalade, resiny notes and some caramel; good IPA!

Bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. This was a lively one, Hazy amber colour big foamy head. Aroma yeasty and caramel, tobacco, and black tea, not a hoppy IPA. Taste yeasty, sweet, ok but not what i expected.

500ml bottle pours a yellow amber color with a bit of head. Mild hop flavors. Homebrew yeastiness dominates.
